At a garage sale. I only posted this here because I was wondering if this was a good deal? Considering it was released in 1991 I'd have thought someone would charge more than a quarter for it.

Anyway, discuss cool pop-punk stuff you've found at garage sales.

$0.25 for any CD is a good deal. Old Green Day is pop punk at its finest.

That's nice. Who in there right mind would sell Kerplunk for $.25?

At our last garage sale, we sold some Backstreet Boys CD's for $.50. I don't remeber anyone buying them though. Not surprising. :p

Even if it was a "crappy" deal, it's only $0.25...

After Americana, my first CD was Dookie. I picked that up, mispriced in WHSmiths in Newcastle for £3.

Possibly a defining moment in my life :)

I got an Alk3 jacket at their concert for $35. Meh.

I know, it's hard finding good clothes in stores though. Especially living in Canada where half the mainstream bands here are shitty Canadian "punk" bands, and "gangsta" rap.

No clue. Unless it's just because our currency is worth less. But stuff is still more expensive taking that into account. Probably because we have to import it. Even though there's free trade so that shouldn't matter.

Meh, they're ok. I used to like them, There's way worse though.

He's saying CD are worth less than USD.

Also they have to pay extra taxes and stuff from importing items, but there are no taxes between US, CA, and Mexico, so that probably isn't the reason.

Brandon: I still like them. One of my first pop-punk bands. I listen to a lot of mainstream though.

1. Don't patronize me, I've been posting here much longer than you have.

2. Re-read what he said, especially the part where he said that he assumed it would have been more expensive since it came out in 1991. Therefore, when I said "it's not out of print," it was obviously referring to that statement--if it's in print, then it shouldn't matter when it came out because it's not rare.

1. I really don't care.

2. Things that have been around longer tend to be harder to find, even if they aren't out of print, do you really think that the label still prints as many copies of Kerplunk now as they did in '91, because I sure don't.

bottlerocket

^ No it doesn't. The decimal point is there, which means it's 1/4 of one dollar. The notation is right, so why are we making a big deal of it?

25 cents = $0.25

He was right. If it just said $25, it would mean there were twenty-five whole dollars.

You can find copies of Kerplunk and 1039 at Best Buy, my friend. Now that I think about it, the original 1039 is probably out of print because they just re-released it with different packaging.

If you guys want to find cheap cds, you should buy used on Amazon.

Now that I think about it there were probably less copies of Kerplunk floating around in '91 because Look Out! and Green Day were both very very small.

I just got 39 Smoothed and Kerplunk on vinyl, and I'm pretty stoked about it.

Also, you said that things that have been around longer are harder to find. Let's think about that for a second: what are you more likely to find in a Best Buy or Virgin Megastore- The Beatles' White Album or a new release froma smaller band?

I wouldn't know, all the best buys and such here sell **** all for cds so I never go there. Although I'm sure it'd be the Beatles, which I imagine is your point. But if it were a smaller local cd store, it'd be the small new band.

To be honest I don't really care, I was merely pointing out that he never said anything about it being out of print.
