ok, im getting a large room built, which doubles as my bedroom and a jam/recording/making alot of noise room. whats the best soundproofing materials i can have concealed behind the walls. and soundproofing gyprock is far too expensive, and i cant have the foam on the walls either? any ideas as to what i can do?

Hang blankets on the walls (and over the windows)
Make sure you have carpet down, and not something like laminate wood flooring.

Not alot really. I'm guessing you can't build a room inside the room. So your only remaining options are to increase the mass of the walls. Which is going to cost you quite a bit.
Or to get some isobooths (the big clear plastic sheets you sometime see around drumkits) you can get them for vocalists, amps and drummers and they do have quite a big effect. But once again, it's going to cost money.

Those would have more effect on the acoustics than soundproofing.
It'd mostly deaden the room slightly.
