Scatter The Ashes is a band on Epitaph who play their own disinguished style of music. I can't really classify it. If you havn't heard them yet you should check em' out. I first heard them off a sampler a year ago. Recently, I've been listenin to them quite a bit. My favorite songs are White Actress, City In The Sea, and From The Top of Trees. Check em' out and discuss.

City In The Sea rules. I thought I was the only person who listened to them here!

I know Brent does because I sent it to him but I don't know if he listens or not. Took me about 3 weeks to find the cd too when it first came out.

I agree with Spence. I can't get into them. I find them boring and uninspiring, but I'm really weird. :thumb:

Hmm, I'm not sure what to think of this band. They're okay I guess.

Gav: they are kind of boring, yeah. I still think they're good. Worth a listen from time to time.

Oh yeah, definitely. There's a few bands like that I really like to listen to. I can only listen to American Football if:

A) I'm in the right mood
B) It's only a few songs

If A and B are met, I love them...if not, I'm bored to tears.

There are actually few bands I can listen to no matter what mood I'm in :-\

A lot of what I listen to is based on my mood.

I can honestly say I've never heard of anything by them.

Heh, same here, man...same here.

Actually, there's only two: Saetia and Saves the Day (no matter how much hardcore, screamo, and grind I listen to, I will always love Saves The Day. :D).

J-Cool: Dig 'em and let us know what you think. They're worth a shot.

^ If you don't have Five Stories Falling and don't know the album by heart, don't talk to me. :)

It's by far their best album; not musically, but the fact it's a live CD with the song "Jet Black New Year" (my favorite Thursday song) makes it utterly amazing...but it ASAP.

PTW is awesome, too, but I can only listen to a few songs before I get bored.

Five Stories Falling is not their best CD.

^ I know it's not their best, Full Collapse is their best, in my opinion, but I have a soft spot for Five Stories Falling.

Man, I love Scatter The Ashes.
Devout: The Modern Hymn is a great album. It's really interesting and inventive. I mean, some of their songs can start off boring, but not many of them end on the same note. If the song didn't start off really hard and making you want to break sh*t, they almost all meet that point somewhere in the song, usually at the end. I love the musicianship in the band, because they're all actually SHOWCASING their talent, which not many bands do. I especially love the use of effects on the guitar.
Love them! :thumb:
