Invision Power Board General Questions

I set up a forum and I have some general questions:

Why is all the text on the whole thing centered?
Why wherever there is supposed to be a picture I have red Xs. Including in my Admin CP?
How do I put a choice of skins on it for me to use?
Is there any way to add to the Avatar selections?

Hmmm, well the only way you can fix the red x's and get more avatars is to contact the people who run it.

But for the centered text you can go into your ACP, got to Skins & Templates, then Style Sheets.

Find the thing like this:

BODY { font-family: Comic Sans MS;font-size: 10px;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;text-align: center;color: white;background-color: #323232; }

Then change 'text-align:' to whatever you want.


For getting more skins it will depend on if they allow it, and then how they set up the server.

It appears others can see the smilies, though. But all I see is red Xs.

Okay, I switched hosting services so everything is now working.

I'm using the smooth tangerine skin and the header of the skin on the board reads "smooth tangerine". I would like to change this to the name of the forum.

If anyone knows how to do this can you explain it to me in the most basic terms possible? I have no idea what I'm doing here.

Kimmie, you will have to take out this: http://1.forumer.com/style_images/smoothtangerine/logo4.gif

and make a new one, and stick it in there with the same dimensions and background colour.

Change that from http://1.forumer.com/style_images/smoothtangerine/logo4.gif to a logo you made youself.

I assume it's the same as the free version.

Is it still a free Invision service? Because you could get a free host that supports php and mysql and I can get you a slightly modified version of IPB 1.3 if you want.

Then you can do whatever you want, edit files/install hacks etc.

Thanks guys. I was hoping to find a place to just change the text of "smooth tangerine" to the forum name.

I don't really know how to make the logo that I want. Could someone do it for me? Make it look like the original font and colors but change the text to "Drifter's Abyss". Thanks, if you can do this.

Chad, it's still free. I've got it the way I want it except for the logo. I wouldn't know what to do with something that would allow me to edit files or install hacks. I'm too much of a novice at this.
