24: Season Five Discussion Thread

How many of you are pumped about Jack Bauer and co. returning? I'm stoked.

The two-day premiere starts tonight after the Carolina/Chicago game - two hours tonight, then two hours tomorrow.

Last season was arguably the best season of 24 - I even got my family back home hooked on it every Monday.

This season will no doubt deliver.

I watched the second season and I really liked it. I didn't watch last season though. I've seen the previews for it, and I think I might watch it this year. I don't watch much TV, so it shouldn't be a problem. I think it starts Tuesday here, though. I will have to check my guide.

This is such an awesome show. I haven't really watched it regularly over years, I caught maybe one or two episodes per season. I think I'm going to stick with it this year, it seems worth it.

That was amazing. I've never cought myself wanting a football game to end like that, although that was a good game. That was probably the best first episode of any season so far. And I really hope Tony makes it, and I have a feeling he will. He's been my favorite character besides Jack since the beginning, although last seasons bad guy(Marawan?) was pretty cool too.

Oh my god. The first ten minutes were simply...shocking. I totally did not see that comming. Its a shame that Palmer was killed though as I thought he was rather cool. Also, I really do hope that Tony pulls through.

The SWAT came in and killed them all.

However, the main terrorist guy gave a keycard to one of the hostages pretending to be a hostage but is also a terrorist.

The episode ends with him in some warehouse.

He uses the keycard with some terrorist friends to open some kind of big box with what looks like chemical weapons. It has the Biohazard symbol anyway.

Well, I enjoyed Season 2, I just didn't feel commited enough to watch seasons 3 and 4, I thought this was season 4, until I saw on my satellite it said season 5. I was wondering whether or not I watched 2 seasons or only 1.

I was going to make this thread, but I didn't have enough post count, because I just joined. I love 24. I have all 4 seasons on dvd and have seen each season at least 3 times each. I thought the first 4 episodes rocked. I literally screamed when Palmer was shot just because it was so surprising. I think the rating of seasons would have to be:

2) 2

4) 4/1

That's just a personal opinion, but that's what I think. I also think they should bring Kim back, because she's so hawt. Oh, I read down, and apparently she is coming back, sweet!!! Yeah that's it. I think in season 4 there was too much little things going on then solved. I.e. kidnapping, override, nuclear plants, then the missle. And in season 1 I just didn't like it as much, I can't explain why.

Wow i didn't know this thread existed (I never go into the pit)

I've been a hardcore fan of 24 since halfway through the first season....easily the best show on TV today....after Babylon 5 was over, it was really hard to make me watch TV again, I thought it was all lame and dumb, but 24 has regained my faith in the medium.

This last episode (well 2) was awesome....but so damn sad. Edgar was such an innocent guy. Did anyone notice that this is the very first time Chloe has displayed emotion?

And there wasn't the heavy clock ticking at the end....it just ended with music....it was beautiful....

damn hot chics are being dropped left and right....first Michelle, now that one chic who went into the ventilation room.

Anyways, I have to add that the best part of the season so far was when Curtis relieved Lynn of command...I just jumped up and yelled "YES!" I was waiting for that son of a bitch to be put out of commition.

And next week (according to the previews), someone makes the ultimate sacrifice (AKA, someone else is going to die off). It's gotta be either Tony or Rudy.

After watching last nights episode, I was so amazed at it, I dreamed of it last night. I dreamed that I was in the middle of the show itself and I was inside the room and I was standing behind Chloe as Edgar died. Crazy stuff.

I'm predicting that Tony is going to attack Robocop and end up killing him. Then Jack will show up and go "TONY NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! DAMNIT!!!!!!"

I started to rewatch my 24 Season 1 dvds last night just to see what it was like. It's so weird watching it the way it began, Jack looks quite a bit different and CTU looks WAY different.:thumb: It seems way darker then the other ones.

i only got into Season 1 about halfway through the season...I think my earliest memory is of Jack being put into custody in some industrial plant after 'trying' to kill Palmer. Its been awhile, since I hadn't seen it since the initial run (or any season for that matter).

Season 3 was pretty dark, I think Season 4 was my least favorite. I liked 2 alot, as well as this one. I need to rewatch 1 to get an accurate description of that.

I managed to watch the first couple of eps from Season 1 because I borrowed the first DVD. There's like...no one left from CTU except for Jack and Tony. :D

I'm really put off the show now as well for some reason. If this is how low the show has sunk in order to keep the shocks coming, then is it really worth watching the rest? And I like how main characters are dying. It's not particularly shocking, but it makes it unlike every other TV show where the main cast stay alive for the series entire run, or at least until a season finale. Well, Michelle died because she knew about Jack's staged death, right? That's the whole reason why those people are dying - the mole in the White House leaked that Palmer, Michelle, Tony, Chloe, and whoever else that knows that Jack's still alive to the terrorists or whatever, so that's why they're all dead. Same, but that's kind of the point. The more intimate scenes in 24 are cheesy as hell. A 24 without people dying is not a good 24.
