Ok, so I just watched two trailers for Clerks II: The Passion of the Clerks. It looks amazing, I'll probably cry when I go see it just from laughing at Randal (the funniest character ever)!
I've only seen Clerks (funniest movie ever), Chasing Amy (would've been better if it was a comedy) and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and I'm hooked on Kevin Smith's intelligent and hilarious films!
So yeah... here's a topic (sorry if there already is one) to discuss Kevin Smith's work.

I've seen Clerks, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. As much as I loved Clerks, I think Dogma is his best.

Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back - Best. Film. Ever
I think Clerks is great, but Dogma is my favorite. Clerks 2 isn't called the Passion of the Clerks anymore, it's just Clerks 2.
They shot Clerks 2 near my house, so I visited the set.
I didn't get to go on at all, but I saw it. :(

Clerks- Good movie, but a first attempt. His later movies were better...
Mallrats- Not bad. This movie had amazing dialogue, which is why Kevin Smith is awesome, however, the plot was pretty crappy. Jason Lee is the man, though...
Chasing Amy- This is the best a chick flick could ever be, but it's still a chick flick...
Dogma- One of the best movies ever. Awesome plot, amazing characters, incredible dialogue. This movie is everything awesome. Kevin Smith's best work, IMO...
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back- Good for stupid comedy, but Kevin Smith's witty dialogue isn't up to par in this one...

Kevin Smith rules. Hard.
Clerks - Funny as hell, but sooooo overrated.
Mallrats - Still really funny, but too thin a plot line
Chasing Amy - Surprisingly good chick flick
Dogma - My favorite. Hilarious, good plot, all around excellent
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - Never saw it
Hopefully Clerks 2 will live up to the original :(

Clerks was a masterpiece of everyman storytelling. Anyone who's ever worked in retail can tell you how flawless the depiction of life as it is in that movie is; and the dialogue is perfect.
The rest of his films are good, even JSBSB (if you take it all as one big in joke concerning Smith's films), but the only other one that equals Clerks is, of course, Dogma. I'm actually seeing Smith and Jason Mewes (Jay) on their speaking tour next month. I absolutely cannot wait.

Chasing Amy may have a chick-flick story line to it but the humor is pure manliness, I reckon. You don't get much chick-flicks with conversations about hilarious headjobs. It was still pretty funny but somehow it just didn't work for me.
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back was kind of weak just because it is, to be honest, a sell out. His other movies were intelligent and hilarious, but JSBSB tried to be as dumb as possible. Maybe it's just because I've never found really obvious spoofs funny (stuff like Austin Powers is good because it's not really a direct spoof, if you get me). The Mark Hamill and Bong Sabre thing at the end didn't even get a smile out of me, I hated it. Still an awesome movie, though.
Oh and one more point... I loved Silent Bob in the other movies because he quite literally did nothing, which was why he was funny. But in JSBSB he was very expressive and yeah, it didn't work for me.
Clerks... it may be the funniest movie ever but I feel that the conversations aren't all they're cracked up to be. Sometimes it just sounds like they're using big words for the sake of it.
Clerks II looks hilarious, I reckon it'll be great. How could it not be? It has Randal in it! Dante looks nothing like his old self, though.
Now I just need to see Dogma and Mallrats.

Mallrats and Clerks are all Kevin Smith's done that's worth talking about.
You forgot Jersey Girl.
I liked that movie. I wouldn't rent it again, though, or buy it, for that matter.

Clerks is my favorite. Randall has the greatest conversations like with the woman trying to trick him, and especially the one about the "innocent" construction workers for the Empire.

You forgot Jersey Girl.
Jersey Girl- A crappy movie with a crappy plot. Only a small fraction of the script had Smith's usual charm. This propels it above other chick flicks, but I was not too pleased with this movie...

Chasing Amy- This is the best a chick flick could ever be, but it's still a chick flick...
It still has some fantastic comedy moments, though. Hooper's speech at the convention is it's highlight, though that's actually kind of a shame as it's right at the start of the film.
I am looking forward to Clerks 2, regardless of..well, anything really.

Clerks was a funny movie, but Kevin Smith has spent most of the rest of his career squandering any good will he earned with it.
Although Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and "Good Will Hunting II: Hunting Season" from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back were all pretty funny.

A kid from my acting class a few years ago did that as his monologue for the class. It was grand. The rest of the movie isn't fantastic but I'd still watch it again.
I like all his stuff I've seen (which is all but Jersey Girl).

I like Clerks and Dogma. I hadn't heard about this though. On a side note, he writes quality comics.

I watched Dogma and Mallrats.
Mallrats = classic, not laugh-out-loud funny like Clerks until the game-show at the end though.
Dogma = Ergh. Not very funny at all.

Dogma seems to be a very divisive film. Amongst my friends, as well as on here, I mean.

My favorite comedic moment is the incident involving Banky not being a real artist because he's a inker, great stuff.
