Although Vince isn't back yet, I decided to go ahead and do one of these anyway. This edition is different however, in that it showcases a number of great bands from my hometown, Buffalo, New York. Please, check these bands out, and let me know what you think.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dead Hearts

Genre:
Hardcore

Similar Artists:
Blacklisted, Have Heart

Members:
Tom (Bass), Derek (Vocals), Jeremy (Guitar), Paul (Guitar), Rich (Drums)

Description:
These guys are simply awesome. They have a lot of energy, cool lyrics, and a great sound. They use "gang vocals" in a lot of their songs, and it fits perfectly. Live, and on record, they are seriously one of the better hardcore bands I've heard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inferis

Genre:
Metalcore

Similar Artists:
The Chariot, Fear Before the March of Flames (?)

Members:
Adam (Vocals), Kevin (Guitar), Bill (Guitar), Dennis (Bass), Jay (Drums)

Links:

Description:
These guys are insane. I've seen them live a couple times, and they have a ton of energy. They have awesome screams, and the guitar work is really impressive. They were one of the first bands that helped me to realize what a great local scene exists around here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

xTo This Dayx

Genre:
(Straight Edge) Hardcore

Similar Artists:
Champion, xDeathstarx

Members:
DJ (Vocals), Ian (Bass), Greg (Guitar), Monkis (Drums)

Links:

Description:
Great band, great guys. Their music is fairly unque to any other band in the area, and their lyrics are very powerful. These guys bring a lot to the Buffalo hardcore scene, through their music, as well as their support for hardcore and metalcore bands around the area.

The Line Dance Massacre

Genre:
Metalcore

Similar Artists:
Into The Moat, Dillinger Escape Plan

Members:
Aaron (Vocals), Dan (Guitar), Matt (Guitar), Jason (Drums)

Description:
Everything about this band is nothing short of intense. Their screams are brutal, and their guitar work is pretty amazing. They are actually quite similar to Inferis, except for the vocals are much deeper and harsher. Either way, they are an awesome band, and do a lot to support the local scene.

xTo This Dayx is awesome.

The Line dance Massacre and Infernis are pretty sweet.

Dead Hearts have a song called Breakdown without a breakdown in it. Wtf. They're good nontheless, if not a bit too punk for me. They're good at what they do though, no question.

Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a demo from xTo This Dayx when I see them tomorrow. I'll send it to you if I get one.

I couldn't get a demo from xTo This Dayx. :(

But I did find out that they plan to release a full length album in the summer.

Yay. I was just wondering when the next one of these would appear. :)

I am checking all of these out as soon as I get home from school. I can't wait for xTo This Dayx and The Linedance Massacre.

:( Apparently pop-punk no longer appreciates good music.*

*except for Jon, who rules. :D

But seriously guys, I know some of you like hardcore/metalcore.

It was a horrible comparison anyway I think. I just couldn't come up with another band at 1:30 in the morning. :(

Dead Hearts > CBK :p

If anyone wants Line Dance Massacre or Inferis demos, let me know. I have both.

I also have three albums/eps from Dead Hearts if anyone would like.

Inferis are sweet.

I'm not into hardcore much lately, I'll check out the other bands later when I'm more in the mood for them.
