I searched for a Kill Bill topic, and my search came out blank. So I feel there's need for this. A general Kill Bill thread. Discuss anything related to either vol. of the series.
My favorite is the first volume, as I prefer the "over-the-top" action scenes over the storyline, which was more of the focus in vol. 2. One thing I just found out yesterday, was that it wasn't being planned to have two seperate Kill Bill volumes. It was a late decision made, as it would've been too long to make one movie out of the two films.

I liked it though it was a bit of an anticlimax.

I wonder if their really is such thing as a '5 point exploding heart technique'...It'd be cool to actually see something like that done in real life. And yeh, did like the importance of the technique in the movie.

Yeah, the previews for it were just "Kill Bill" and they announced "In 2003, Uma Thurman is going to Kill Bill" or something; but she didn't, until 2004.
I just saw the movies for the first time since Christmas, actually, and I'm wondering why I hadn't before. I was sceptical at first, because it seemed like a joke, but I think he mixed the OTT action and story very well.
got tool?

I thought it was funny how they had a guy who played hatori hanzo in japanese tv shows play hatori hanzo in the movie.

Tarantino is planning to re-release the movie in theaters with both movies crammed into one. I'll probably see it.

I thought it was a great ending, had that Tarantino surrealness about it.
As for whether it is a real technique or not it is said that certain pressure points in your body can kill you in a discliplined blow, so i gather that the five point exploding heart thing is simply a creation based off this knowledge.
I loved how the movie payed homage to so many other obscure films that Tarantino watched as a youth, because if you were to watch them now you'd be like 'Hey they ripped off Kill Bill'.
I like both of the Kill Bill movies. The first one was better though, IMO.

I'd go for it. I watched the two movies back-to-back just yesterday. It's a good thing to do.

there is no such thing as a 5 point exploding heart technique in real lilfe, and there is no such thing as pressure points that once hit will kill.
thats from old chinese fantasy martial art movies/ novels. watch swordsman 2, fong sai yuk. or if there are, read the translated novels of the laughing swordsman ( swordsman 1 and 2 is based on this ), the condor heros and plenty others

I liked the first one, the second was to story orientated which I didn't like. I want to see the first one with full colour instead of those dam black and white scenes.
Overall good films.

I've only seen the first one. I liked it but I didn't see what all the fuss was about it.
That's why I'm not too fussed about seeing the second.

They were both okay but are both vastly overrated and by far the worst Tarantino films.

The only consistently good things about these films are really the action sequences. Everything else is weak by Tarantino's standards.

I love both movies, but I prefer Vol. 2 for these reasons:
1.) Spaghetti West > Japenese Cinema
2.) Michael Madsen is fantastic and such a great villian.
3.) More David Carradine (= better film)

IMO QT's worst is "Jackie Brown" and his best is easily "Pulp Fiction". Though I hevn't be unimpressed by Tarintino yet...

I really like those 2 points. Bud was probably my favorite character in either film, and I love Carradine. His voice is great.

I like the series, but not as much as people say. The second ones better in my opinion, I like the stroyline Tarintino writes.

I agree with you, EXCEPT that I think Jackie Brown was worse than Kill Bill.
I've always considered myself a big Tarantino fan, but recently it occured to me that I really only like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, but because I love those films an ungodly amount, I thought I liked him overrall.

I love pulp fiction...
I like the part where John Travolta gets out of the bathroom and Bruce Willis is standing there with his gun.

The best part of Pulp Fiction is where Marvin gets shot in the face:lol:
As well as the ending, and the scenes with Tarintino

I like both of them for different reasons, maybe 2 more than 1 purely because Lucy Liu trying to be badass was a total failure. She's totally hot but totally unconvincing. And Michael Madsen rules.

And what's with people hating Jackie Brown? Sure, it wasn't mind blowing, but the acting entertained me to death.

Sam Jackson was pretty sweet in that movie at least. Otherwise I wasn't much of a fan. Sam's sweet in every movie he's in, even Kill Bill Vol. 2:eek:
