I have been working on it lately but I don't have a scanner or something to give it to you.How would you rate the difficulty of this solo (10 maximum) for a 5 years drummer? I don't say it is difficult but is it TOO easy for a drummer that plays for about five years (I mean I am a looser if I play it now?).
you are a loser if you think about it like that.

I say that carn because I so busy with school that i don't have time for drumming. There was a period that I did't have a kit actually.(I was practising on pillows).there are people that play for 5 years that play 100 times better that me
even if you have been playing for 20 years it will still be a good solo to learn, its pretty hard to get the same feel out of it like Gadd does.

Too easy for somebody who's played 5 years? The first "traces" of Crazy Army i've heard were when Steve Gadd played 'Silly Putty' with Stanley Clarke in the mid-80's. He'd been playing for a liiiittle more than 5 years. (he might have played it earlier but I don't know all of his stuff).
Then he played it in what, 1991? At the B Rich memorial concert...it's all about how you play it. And there's nothing that says have gotta stick to the music.
I wouldn't say this would be easy for a drummer wich has been playing for 5 years. If you play metalish stuff then you wont be able to play this is you don't practice stuff like that

I played this for my audition to college. Learned it in high school, so I'd only really been playing 5 years, and not even taken it seriously for alot of that time. The rolls are a bit tricky to play at speed, and ittook me a while to 'get' the feel of it, but it's killer once you can nail it.

Billy. Gotta be a billy goat.
EDIT: Nice one
I practiced a different version; the one from Steve Gadd's "Up Close" book, it was called "Variations on Crazy Army" and was a bit more roll-centered from F onwards...I`ll try to dig it up and record it

Theres a video of it on Drummerworld.
I prefer the beginning in this vid:

the whole "thing"..but Gadd hardly plays it the same after the beginning so I hope you get an idea of it in general. Sucky soundmix:
