Are you going to be sitting on it while it's driving? If so, you might want some sort of seat with a seatbelt, you know. This one guy was in the back of a pickup in a wheelchair, they secured the chair, but not him. He flew out and almost died.
:thumb:
that has nothing to do with guerilla warfare
Massik Kretal
01-14-2006, 04:17 PM
Yes it does.
guerrilla warfare:
Fighting in which small independent bands of soldiers harass an enemy through surprise raids, attacks on communications and the like.
Massik Kretal
01-14-2006, 04:25 PM
That's why it's a guerrila gig. The word war has nothing to do with it and guerrila doesnt only associate to war.
guerilla is derived from the Spanish word for war, Guerra.

I do but it doesnt matter. The term guerilla when used in the english language refers to fast suprise "attacks".
But w/e lets stick to drums.

According to the dictionary, Guerrilla/Guerilla, when used as an adjective, means "of independent armed resistance forces"
From google definitions
# guerrilla: a member of an irregular armed force that fights a stronger force by sabotage and harassment
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
# Guerrilla (also called a partisan) is a term borrowed from Spanish (from "guerra" meaning war) used to describe small combat groups. Guerrilla warfare operates with small, mobile and flexible combat groups called cells, without a front line. Guerrilla warfare is one of the oldest forms of asymmetric warfare. Primary contributors to modern theories of guerrilla war include Mao Zedong, Wendell Fertig, Vo Nguyen Giap, and Che Guevara. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerilla
# Military operations conducted in enemy held territory usually by volunteer “irregular” forces. Combat style is characterized by skirmishing, surprise hit-and-run raids on enemy supply lines, camps, and patrols. From Spanish “guerra” for “war,” “guerilla” means literally “petty” or “little war.”

it could have stopped there, but let me end it, it is like guerilla warfare, but, instead of having a small group of ppl armed with AK47s and a flatbed for transportation, u have ppl armed with gibsons, marshal amps, and a drum set

I disagree with you here. I think this sounds extremely fun, and may not be totally mature, but It sounds like a blast. I dont think I have the balls to do it with my saturn in the back of a pickup though... mabye use somone elses set :)
Even being original in song writing etc. Many good bands have done stuff like this in the past, and It sounded like they had quite a time. If I/my band where to do something to this effect, It........ damn I totally forgot what im talking about. Damn reefer. But wed be sure to videotape it for MX. And you should to if you end up doing it!

All right i dont care if someone mentioned it already.
I would simply use U-bolts for the cymbal stands and such. Pedals and such shouldnt be a problem but you could use cable ties on the footboard.
Bass drum spurs are the only problem i can see.
I plan on doing a guerilla gig and this is the setup i decided would be easiest to secure:

you can start off by taking your kick drum spurs. they have the rubber part that screws on, right? use that as a foundation for mounting your bass somewhere.
the other easy option would be a rack bar- you can mount the vertical legs to something pretty easy... the tubes are 1.5" OD if you go with gibraltar. you can find all sorts of ways to mount that.
