I once decided that I would never get a double bass pedal because Chad Smith never got a double bass pedal and he said he didn't need one, it kind of felt like cheating.
Now I want one. I did some quick research and it seems the most widley respected and the highest priced are Tama Iron Cobras. I can't get them though, as I have a budget of £5. My birthday's in February though, I was going to get either a multitrack recorder, a new cymbal or a double bass pedal, I'll probably go for the latter.
Any recommendations? No higher than £100 though, I think that's about $160.
Thanks in advance :)
you still wont get anything good with that budget. Unless big dogs are £100. IF they arent then i would just hold off on the double until you had a higher budget. Get a cymbal.

There aren't many good doubles for that much. A good single is easy to find with that cash...can people buy a single then later by another single add a bar and make it a double?
I know you can with the Pearl Elim. Ive seen it done b4. they sell it seperatley too so you can do that..they sell the other slave and pedal. Dont know about any other pedals though.

I bought my Stagg Double Bass pedal for £90. Don't do that, you'll just regret it and end up wanting a better pedal and theres £100 down the drain which you could have put towards your lovely DW9000 or something. Just wait for a bit longer and get a better double bass pedal, you won't regret waiting.

dw 900 series works the best, i have one of those, and it kicks all the u-know-what in the world. It seriously makes a difference from my old pdp 800. Plus, the rev of a7x uses dw 900. woot!
dw 900 costs about $400-$600

Ok thanks for all the advice guys, I don't see what could possibly make the Pearl Eliminator worth £100, how is it different from, say, a stock pedal? Next time I'm near a drum shop I'll go in and try one...

iv had a lot of exsperience with double bass peddles. the one you buy depends on quite a few things if you want it to feel smooth wether you like to feel the peddle under your feet or not because i use a dw 4000 and to me thats brillient iv had it for three years and it still hesent broken yet and it was onley £120 apart from that you can get a big dog which is £100, £120 (there are two versions i think) or a pacific 402 double peddle thats £99. the connon bp94 £99, the peace 8 ball double peddle thats £120. there the only one i could find trust me if you can get an exstra £20 then you can get quite a few peddles to choose from trust me the dw 4000 is a very good pedle for begginer double pedlers and for its price range its one of the best.
p.s. go to your nerest store and try some oeddles out.

Damn I've just realised from memory, when I used to have drum lessons six months or so back, I had no experience with pedals and what were the different ones.
One day I turned up at my teacher's house and saw that he had a new pedal, I mentioned it briefly and then forgot about it. I realise now that it was one of those pearl eliminators...

Big Dog Pro double runs at about 160 pounds. Ask your parents for it.
