vidios on the interweb

ok so when ever i go to some sites to watch a video from a band i cant get the vidio to come up. when i click on the video for "windows media player" i get a messege that says

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. In the Open URL dialog, try opening the file using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:")."

so i try to figure out how to change the transport protocol, but i cant. the main vid site ive been trying to see is at the green day officail site. any info on who to change this whould be great.
