DVD ripping program

What's a program that you could use to rip DVD's into some format to put onto an IPod video? My friend just got one, and neither he nor I know how. Any ideas? I'm sure there's a way.

You can use programs like DVD2AVI for ripping DVDs onto your computer. I have used this to put movies on my Cowon.

I don't know about the iPod though, I think you have to buy Quicktime Pro to covert and compress video. I think that there is probably some kind of free software that could by pass this though.

Alright. Thanks. I found a program earlier that would rip DVD's, but it was in some weird format that I didn't know what to do with.

i already have a ripper...any want to suggest a good prog to take the Video_TS folder and convert to DivX?

WinAVI can do that. I got it from Torrentspy.

Instead of ripping it to those stupid TS folders, I find it easier to rip it to an ISO, then shrink it, then burn it.
