well thats about explains it. It was awsome. Nice to have a kickass slection for once.but it was opening day so it wasnt worth it to buy anything major. Ill go when it isnt so noise and people trying to out do each other by playing "feel good inc." I tried a few basses.

I tried a Frettless 4 string warwick corvette i think. it was nice and it felt nice to have the fret less feel under the fingers.

then I tried a fender jazz bass (im not a big fender fan but it was worth a try) it had good tone(espically for slap it sounded really nice) but the big frets and lack of frett sort of disattracted me , but i would mind ever playing one.

Played a few schectors that werent bad but still

ARRRRR BUT THEN ! i saw the one bass of fender that i would like to try soooooo bad. The marcus miller signature. and it was to high to reach and it was to crowded to ask to take down so i cried inside.

But I dont know I'm really picky with my basses. I like my tone off my gs200 and my yorkville but i know there is better ones but i still havnt found that bass yet. I'm just really looking for a very very warm tone that doesnt have too much brightness but has that tone knob turned off growl that let harmonic flow beautifully. But I think that will be in a price range that i can afford right now :(.

any suggestions?:chug:

I went to the one near me today. Whoa.

I mostly played their acoustics, but I did look at their basses.

I actually don't like guitar center. It's too crowded, and when I'm looking for something specific, I can't find it.

I'm also convinced that every time I go to try out an amp, I pick up a bad cable.

ergh.

i live about 4 minutes from a GC. i don't care though because Guitar Center attracts more douchebags then a college sorority.

lol, i'm deeply sorry you could'nt experience the sweet sweet instrument known as the fender marcus miller jazz bass but i assure you that the wait will be worth it, it's a fine instrument.

I think you may like a sting ray though they are pretty "bright"

And for the record, the bass intro to "calm like a bomb" is the best Guitar Store show off riff of all time.

Enjoy your GC!!!

I know what you mean...every single person had to pick up the most expensive guitar with the loudest amp and play a stupid palm-muted metal line...gross...

...but I can finally try out some stuff before I buy now!!!!

there's been alot of big stores going in around me, in a new stripmall they put in about 5 minutes from my house... a bunch of friends and I have been sending E-mails to GC to see if they'll put one in there... they would do AWESOME business...

Guitar Centre is alright. There's one about fifteen minutes or less depending from me, and the bass selection there really isn't that great. It's mostly overrun by guitarists, but the bassists that actually go there are rather decent. Otherwise, it just sucks there.

I still need to make a trip up to Seattle to go to Bass NW.

/is going to Seattle next weekend

Yeah, I'm about four hours away from Seattle currently, but roadtrips are always fun. I'm only going up there because this guy wants to hang out with me/take me to all the parties he goes to just for fun. I'm excited. New parties with new people. :)

I'll be sure to check it out, though. I looks like a nice, little shop, and, believe me, I'd rather support small businesses that huge corporations. You usually get a better deal at the smaller shops anyway. :p

i went to the grand opening also. its a pretty kool store. it was pretty loud though, to many guitarist playing chords that only exist in their own little world. the bass room was pretty small but they had some good basses. they had 2 corvettes (one fretted and one frettless), a lot of stilletos (dont think i spelt that right), a few stingray's, and a marcus miller jazz. lol, they also had a wanna be elvis singing there, very crazy stuff...

The bass and DJ room at guitar center is fun. However, the guitar and Drums section blow.
