Anyways there is this kid at my school who knows nothing of bass, he is a drummer. But he has a Thunderbird that he got from his grandfather, and he said he would sell it to me for 100$ and hes going to bring it to me. On the other hand I can wait till June 24, my birthday, and get a Spector Euro LX 5. Should I bargin the kid down to 50 and spend my personal money with the guilt of tricking him or wait and for sure get the Euro? Although it seems easy to anwser you have to think i want the Thunderbird but if i get it my mom will see no reason in me getting the Euro or maybe buy it and sell it back to someone else for more?
I haven't seen the bass yet but i know it is woodgrain with the white T-bird pickguard. I also have never played a thunderbird.

Thunderbirds suck.....don't take it, on a "bass level".
Also, on a moral level, don't rip this kid off for this bass, you never know how much it might mean to him one day.
If its a Gibson T-bird, buy it right away. Its probably worth $800-$1000 or more assuming its in good condition. Youd get a hell of of deal.
If its a Epi t-bird, its not the greatest bass but still a good deal at $100. You could probably sell it for more if its in good shape.

Check out the bass, if it looks good and you like the way it plays, give him a 100 dollars..is it an epiphone or a gibson?
Either way, 100 dollars for a bass like that is a good deal if you ask me.

get the euro! thats awesome and far more worth the use than the T-bird
if it jepordises your chances of getting the spector, dont even go near the t-bird

Rip the kid off. :)
Plus it's only a hundred dollars for a bass. That's really not that expensive, and June is still quite a ways away, so you'd have time to still save up for the Euro, and, on top of that, you could sell the Thunderbird for some more money to put towards your Euro. That is if you didn't like the Thunderbird.
Personally, I don't like Thunderbirds.

thats exactly what i was thinking. if this kid got it from his grandfather, and i bought it for 100 dollers, id feel like an as.shole. id say save up and get the Spector.

Thanks for all the suggestions ive decided to get the spector, I just wanted to know what the mxers thought about the T-Bird cause i haven't had a chance to play one. Also because he is a drummer he could keep the bass there and use it when on of his friends that wants to play bass could learn on it. Overall I really didn't want to get it but it was only 100$ and i could afford it easy. But yeah im sticking with the Euro.

i have a good story involving this type of thing. (sorry if i hijack the thread, i have major add and need to tell somethign when it comes into mind) soooo...
i move into kalamazoo make some new friends find out one plays bass. he tells me he has a spector raven and i have no clue what he is talking about b ut says he got it cheap. and i found it fishy in the first place. so i go over to his house and start talking to him again and he tells me he bought it for like $100 off of some kid because the pups were messed up (this part will be very easy to understand in a little). so i ask to see it and he sold it back a few weeks ago to the kid because of the electronics and he didnt want to pay to fix them (dumb dumb move). so i go well lets look for the bass and we cant find it and i think. hmmmm warwick buzzard maybe and he says maybe i show him a picture of it and says thats it. so i flip out tell him what he had for 100 dollars and could have fixed for about 200 more and not even been close to the actual value of the bass. then punch him in the face. and think to myself hes bull****ting me but i ask his dad and he did. so thats my story and if you are still wondering the ironice thing with the electronics. MEC'S Suck!!!.
Morals of the Story
1. Know Your Basses. Don't Be Ignorant
2. Replace the piuckups in your warwicks please they will die
3. Do'nt be a dumbass. when you have a question about your bass not working dont talk to some who knows shti about ****. ask someone who knows there basses extremly well and who is way better than you.
