I'm interested in learning the harmonica, and am getting one for my birthday, just wondering what would be the one to get? I want the best one out there, money is not an option, i've been playing my friend's for a couple months now, and love it

Just make one out of a piece of used toilet paper and a comb.

I've got one somewhere...I screwed around w/ it. Figured out how to bend pitches, and then set it down and haven't picked it up since.

Same here, I got two nice books as well :(

The first exercise was to play the same note and just blow the rhythm of a song....screw that

I've had several harmonicas. I just randomly play anything though.

I think you meant money is no object. However if you meant option then stealing is a good alternative.

I love harmonica. The only songs I can play are The Wizard by Black Sabbath, Heart of Gold by Neil Young, and All Along the Watchtower by Bob Dylan.

i suggest lee oskar, they have the best reveiws...my c blues harp by hohner sounds great (esp for dylan stuff) but the upper notes are scratchy and dont sound good.

Just get a Marine Band. The blues shouldn't cost more than $20 son.

If money is no object get the XB-40, the first one. You can blow or draw bend any hole (on normal diatonics you can only draw bend holes 1-6 and blow bend holes 8-10), but that's like $80, and you don't know how to bend, so I would suggest (from personal experience) the Hohner Special 20. Only about 25 bucks and great tone. Don't get a Honer Blues Harp (cheap quality with a wood comb that swells over time). Lee Oskars are supposedly very good but I've never tried one.

I own a number of harmonica's including lee oskar and hohner, and i think the hohner blues harp is the way to go, you can definatly tell the differance in tone between the blues harp and the lee oskar, but thats my opinion so....

I have a C diatonic harmonica, it's pretty cool, if C is your key of choice. Personally I would have prefered A flat, but hey, you can't have everything. Umm, mine came with a book, but I kind of went though it in a few minutes, half of it was teaching you what a minim was, and the rest was stuff that only took a bit of practise and it didnt really teach yuou much.
