Ok' so today I become a man and finally mod my bass a bit
I'm putting a badassII on my fender MIM Jazz (for obviosu reasons) and I just wanted to know, is there anything I should be aware of, will I have to make new holes? Cut notches or anything at all like that?
Cheers,
Ben

No you don't have to drill more holes or what not. That bridge is made for a Fender body so you should be fine.

i believe on those you have to file your saddles

You will need to file a small string slot on each saddle.

Get a pro to do it bro, you need the right type of file to match the right string guage apparantley.
/can't wait to get mine on my custom bass.

^^^ i dont think thats really necessary. it's not a bad idea, but simple guess and check should suffice. just do it small icrements at a time.

Honestly, unless you have the proper files for the job, you'll just be asking for string buzz at the saddles. Either buy the proper files or just have a shop do it for you.

Yes i should have mentioned that i have access to the correct files for the job.

^^^That makes a huge difference. I can't tell you the number of people I've seen use a simple triangle file to do the job and then wound up wondering why their strings were buzzing at the bridge.

I've just remembered I've got modelling files from I used to play warhammer
I'll use them then
Will I have to file out a whole saddle or just clean them up (if you get what I mean)

what youre filing out is a groove for the string to sit on. Unlike other bridges (look at your old one), the saddles come completely unnotched.
if youre going todo it yourself, theres a lesson in either the lessons or resource subforum.
