I am planning on defretting my squire, but I have a problem, it's that special edition one with the skull and crossbones, so it has this big abalone inlay on the 12th that is around the frets.

What am I going to do? pry it off and fill it with wood filler? I don't know if lacquering over it would be too good of a thing, and it would look all ugly after the wood filler in the frets...

Soldering iron, grabbers. Do the ends first, touching the soldering iron to the end of the fret (don't touch the board). Pull the ends up, and you should be able to work it out without getting heat near the inlay, and without stratching/cutting it out with the nippers/grabbers. If you're lucky, you should only have to do one end and the whole lot will come out at once, but be careful - you don't want to pull half the fingerboard up too, so do it slowly and carefully.
