G'day,
So, my strings are getting very old and dead... though not broken yet. I've been a bad owner. :( These strings are black ball-ends, with white cotton webbing over the other end. What kind of strings are they?
Can anybody recommend decent string upgrades? The bass is very well worn-in, so resonance and sustain aren't a problem. At the same time, the maple fingerboard is very snappy. I'm after a good set of strings that will give the deep, crisp tone for slapping, however I don't want it too bright. My thoughts were some Stainless Steel strings, probaly D'addario Prisms, though can't find those anymore, in a thicker gauge, say 110-115. Other options are DR Hi-beams, or any other options out there that people can recommend?
