View Full Version : For Sale or Trade

I have come to one of the most important conclusions in my entire life, within the past couple of days. This is that I will be a better drummer than a guitar player. I have been playing the quitar for almost twelve years, and I have been frustrated with it for quite some time. Most of the time this is because I'm just not feelin' it. However, it seems that every time I pick up some sticks, I'm feelin it. So, I need some drums, electronic drums to be exact, but I'm broke. Thats where the "For Sale" comes into play. I need money, and space for drums in my little apartment, therefor, my decently new guitar equipment must go. I am selling an almost mint condition, Brownsville UJR765 electric guitar for $300obo, a Peavey Special 212 Transtube amp, recently refurbished by Sam Ash, for $300obo, a mint condition Ibanez Weeping Demon wha pedal for $70obo, and a DigiTech RP 300 multi-effects pedal for $120obo. The DigiTech has been used a good bit, but since I bought a new AC adapter for it, it plays just like new. I also have an older Ibanez Axstar with a new Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demon pickup in it. You can tell the guitar has been used, but it still looks freakin' sweet. I will only sell this guitar if someone makes me a nice offer. Anyways, if most of my stuff is sold together, I will definately knock some of the price off, and include a tuner and a buch of cables (2 Monster Cables). However, I would love to just trade it all for some sweet electronic drums. Wish me luck!!

Would I be able to use everything you give me, without having to buy something else? What kind of condition is it in? And are you willing to trade?

You could use everythin I'll give you. It is only one year old and not constant playing(I only started to play everyday about 2 months ago)and is in excelent condition. I'll even throw in the bass pedal for free, though you'll have to get your own throne, but they are only 30 dollars for a cheap one. As far as trading goes, I'd pefer you sell your stuff near you for what you want and then buy the set off of me.This will cut out the shipping cost for you.(i know that amps are pretty heavy and guitars arn't exactly feather light either) I'm looking to get about $550 for my kit at the lowest so I can aford to get an acoustic. I'm not exactly ready to get rid of it now, but could be in about a week or two. I just have to clear out the basement a bit. If you can't sell your stuff up there I would except a trade. that picture was taken this week so you know all the brackets and such work.
I'll try and get you a pic of the moldule later. The manaul is also included with a sound list. I will keep my costom presets if you would like, or I could put them back to the way they were pretty easily. I don't think the would nessarly be sweet e-drums but they get the job done, and do it pretty well. I'll try to get pics of everything up. I even have the pads and wires labled for easy setup. The only thing that is missing from the kit is one of the end caps but that isn't a problem.

you mentioned an acoustic. i also have an acoustic, that i really didn't even think to mention. i would be willing to get rid of it, as long as i still had my effects pedal and one electric guitar. the acoustic is an alvarez rd10 in used but good condition. it was only $180 new, so it may not be what youre looking for. i can also send pics of anything if you want, just gotta get my girl to consolidate her pics first.

Well, what do you think about my set? Not what you're looking for? Exactly what your looking for? What?????

yeah, i could be satisfied with what you have, as long as i get to hold on to one of my electric guitars and my multi-effects pedal. by the way, i have also remembered that i have an yamaha rbx170 4 string electric bass guitar, that i would let go. it was $180 new, and it is in close to new condition.

If you have another guitar, I would be willing to trade my kit for the guitar listed andthe bass and the $70 pedal. If not... The bass,$70 pedal, and amp

Honestly, even thought it is the most valuable of all my stuff, I would rather get rid of my amp. It takes up space that I will need for a drum set. It is also extremely loud, which I can't be in my apartment. This is why Im getting e-drums. This amp was $600 new and it sounds impressive. I've had it longer than any of my gear, and Im gonna be sad to see it go. Unfortunately, its the most logical thing to get rid of. If you are down with the amp, the bass, and the wha pedal for your kit, I think Im down too. I'll give you a couple cables too.

I would like to wait until the 31st if that is ok. a bit before is fine.

ok ive never done anything like this b4. how do we go about shipping, look up a freight company? it will probably be expensive, no? and also, how do we trust each other? is a verbal agreement on this forum legally binding? dont mean to sound scetchy, but like i said, ive never done anything like this.

I have a suggestion. Sell the amp, waw pedal, and the bass on ebay. Set the reserves a bit lower than what you would like to make.(i.e.- reserve at $290 for amp) Then find out how much shipping would be and add that under shipping cost. This eliminate the shipping for you. Then after the polls close, send me what you make.
As far as being able to trust one another, I myself would never cheat a large of a payment as this. The fact that I'm trying to save you money is also a way to trust me. And technically, This is a written agreement. If you wish I will write up a more formal document and then email it to you.
Oh. and forget what I said about waiting till the 31st. I wrote that durring a study period for finals.

hey sorry it took me so long to reply. i've been out of town. anyways, i could try to sell some stuff on my own and get back to you, or we could meet somewhere in between charlotte and state line and trade. just occured to me that we could both drive about three hours and be in the middle. i think that is better that paying a couple hundred bucks on shipping. what do you think. if you want to wait to see if i can sell my stuff first thats cool. just let me know.

no, the driving thing won't work seeing a how I'm not old enough to be legally driving and I don't have any money for gas, so if you sold you stuff on ebay, you could have them cover the shipping and then the cost for shipping my stuff isn't that much i don't think, so that would probably work best.

cool man. i'll get back to you when i get rid of some of my stuff.

Yeah, I have been thinking about not selling my gear. I might end up just dipping into my savings account to buy your drum set. Me and my girl, who I have lived with for almost three years, have just broken up. So, I've got a bunch of stuff to figure out. Honestly, I'm pretty sure I'll decide that I do want to buy your set in a couple of days. Hope there are no problems with the set still. Give me a couple of days to think about it, and I'll hit you back.
goalieman92
02-17-2006, 07:23 AM
there are no problems with the set. I think you'll be very happy with it, and i forgot to say that you'll get the isos too. now all you'd have to get is a throne, and you can pick one up for about 30$. sorry to here about you two breaking up

Oh, Such excitement, such sadness, such confusion...
I feel like I know both of you now, what a beautiful thread.
Anyway, a carrier is needless and would cost too much. Selling it on ebay is equally useless, as you will just end up paying ebay in fees and they won't pay the shipping for you.
Let me suggest something, since goalieman here can't drive, why don't you do the driving? you said 3 hours? Well, then drive 6 hours. If you start by dawn you'll get back around 8-9 PM. You guys are worried about trust? Trust shouldn't be an issue here, i've dealt with plenty of shady characters in my life, and neither of you seem like the crooked type. Just get yourself an old pick-up, get his address, the money too, and by the next day you'll be jammin' on your new drumset. Who cares about gas money, maybe goalie can spot you some, a nice trip through the country would be worth it anyhow. It'll clear your mind.
Personally, i'm glad you ain't selling the guitars, not a good Idea to throw a part of your life away because you're confused. You'll regret it after the fog clears.
Good luck with it. Oh, and uh, Sorry about the girl, Hope you get it all straightened out.

Thanx Dude. I've leaned away from selling any of my gear since I firtst posted this thread. I may still sell my Wha pedad and/or my Axstar. Anyways, the drive would be three hours half way there, and then another three hour drive back. Twelve hour drives suck. Another dilema with that, when I lost my girl, I lost my wheels. My girl and I are sure to get back together, but right now we need our own separate lives. As far as the drums, I'm sure goalieman and I will figure it out. I appreciate the advice.
