I was searching for some german information about bass for my german-class in school. Then I came across this site; http://www.nobby-meidel-bass.de/ it seems to be a rather exclusive german luthier. If you click on "Sound Beispeile" you get to see some very original pieces played by a crazy german dude with some serious groove and also some sheehan like guitar-shredding. I like what he does in the first video "u.f.o." with his cellphone! He does also do a Stanley Clark cover of "school days"
Enjoy! :thumb:

That guy was rocking out pretty hard! :p
Seems like a beast of an instrument; really nice bass tone, shame about the looks.
Seriously though, that guy can wank like crazy. :naughty:

Yeah the tone was awesome! And it sounded like a guitar one second and like a really great bass the other. :) But it looked fairly fugly, better than a steinberger though.

wow, that was freakin awesome.... i love the guitar-esque style of it on bass.... how the hell did he get that kind of tone?... i assume the rig must be pretty complex... something like Led_Zep old thread of that monsterous idea

...warwick (to my knowledge... maybe a custom job though) has never done a headless OR that shape.... that screams Steinburger to me... a high-end steinberger....

It is the first Warwick ever made. That model is named after him, though I believe Peter Wilfer still has the very first one. Warwick started off in the town I study at and there are quite a few early examples of their stuff floating around. My teacher has a bass(I believe a Streamer, though I'm not sure) that he got when they were still making their stuff in a small shack. Never did see another nobby bass though.

Take a closer look at that thing...headless, but still uses regular strings. The ball-ends are anchored at the nut, while the open ends go down through the bridge into normal tuning pegs. It's such a simple idea, but genius all the same.

that is cool, but how would you put it down in between playing? It would always have to go in its case.
