I am thinking about getting a microKORG for myself and my band. We are an alternative/indie kind of band and we want a synth that has nice organ, strings, and piano sounds and that we can use to edit and muck around with sounds. Also i was wondering wether i could use the microKORG so that i could cue recordings or samples by hitting different keys. If not how could i work around this?

Korg is good for quality, but the Microkorg only has 37 keys, so I don't know if that's enough for you.
but if you're going to play lead and solo parts on keys, I'm not sure if 37 keys are enough.
One thing I'm not sure about is if the Microkorg has organ sounds
hope this helps

There are no piano sounds. Tiny keys too.

yes. ^
the microkorg really isn't what you're looking for
there's no organ/piano/or really anything that doesn't sound straight out of a song by the faint
