Basically, I just wanna know what bands that everyone loves but you hate. I personally cant stand, and call me unholy for this, Iron Maiden. I appreciate the talent, and fair play to Brucie for the whole Ozzfest fiasco (and i ****in worship Ozzy) for making a stand. But his vocals make me wanna go out and murder some Emo/Chav kids. Ha! I just want everyone/anyone's opinions. Cheers Brooksy:chug:

There is a thread quite like this...

Everyone loves Metallica but I hate their music and even more so, what kind of greedy people they are.

I just dont like Slayer and Sepultura. I like som Metallica. Apart from that i havent heard much thrash apart from Testament but aparently the album i had wasnt a good one. What i hate about Slayer is that it sounds like hes ripping the string of the guitar and i hate the singers voice. And Sepulturas i find boring.

i dunno, i like 'tallicas 1st 4 albums but then they got s***, but i prefer megadeth anyhow

Sepultura/soulfly is a matter of taste. i seen soufly live, and im seein them again soon. But to be honest i just love moshing. Ha and they are barbaric live. Max's voice is just so dirty. And Slayer i totally understand. I mean they basicallly rewrite the same few songs over and over, but they have some killer riffs, just a pity the soloing sounds the same every. f***ing. time

ANGRA, TRIVIUM, Korn, limp bizkit, megadeth,

brooksy1986
01-08-2006, 05:11 AM
why does no one like trvium. ha! oh well. The way i see it is, most people i know got into metal, i mean underground stuff like Vision of Disorder, Nasum, bezerker and stuff like that thru real commercial bands. So i see Trivium as a good stepping stone to greater things

Perhaps you would benefit from listening to Iron Maiden without Bruce. They also have albums with different singers (Paul Di'Anno and Blaze Bailey). I recommend the self titled album or Killers.

Blaze sucked! Good vocalist but just not right. Di'anno(?) era albums are good, i own both original LP's which is cool, along with Motorhead's Ace of Spades album combined Heavy Metal and Punk characteristics. But unlike Motorhead, they just stopped and got cheesy when bruce arrived.

Yeah Iron Maiden I agree on, I was not impressed when I first heard them

Red Hot Chilli Peppers do my nut in, the music is absoloutely fantastic but his voice...I just really really dislike it, dull as dishwater

Yeah, I can see what you mean, even if I personally like Anthony Kiedis. But it would be nice to have RHCP with Mike Patton, woot woot.

Yeah, I definitely prefer Di'Anno. He just sings his heart out, even if he isn't of Bruce's calibre.

You are correct, dude.

Except....

The music actually is terrible, elevator music. There is so much wrong with that band I don't even know where to begin.

i hate Franz Ferdinand, what genre does that come under. I just saw a music video on TV. Haha. G'n'R bore me, great talent but i cant listen to a whole album without skipping a few tracks, you know your listening to a superb album when you just listen to it thru without it feeling tedious

Franz Ferdinand came out of the big Indie UK explosion, it happens every year.

For those who have read NME Magazine before will know what I'm on about.

Yeah, sorry about that. Im English and im sorry, on my countrys behalf for all those shockingly bad bands we have released upon our fine planet. Ha! but we did create Metal, and punk apparently. Even though i think the Ramones beat us to it.

:)

However

I still think they manage to suck the life out of a potentially good track "Under the Bridge", the vocals are so damn weak.

The Ramones are simply quality

i dont think we did, i wish i could confidently say we did, but the ramones pre-date the sex pistols and the clash.

This thread is mind numbing. And has been done many a time before. The criteria for what makes a band popular is also incredibly vague.

Sorry about the crap subject, ha! oh well. Chav killing is still unfortunetely illegal in most countries, unless you cut them up into small bits and bury them.

Songs i downloaded:

Those are all newer Sepultura songs. Their 80's material is way better, IMO.

Although judging by your comment about Slayer, I doubt you would like their old material either.

IMO the ozzy-era sabbath is way over-rated, it was good but the stuff they did with Dio is what i like best, Dehumanizer is one of my favourite albums.

No way, Ozzy Sabbath Rules. He might not be the best singer in the world, and he shoulda killed Sharon while he had the chance, but he created so many bands we have 2day. And have you seen the original Sabbath lineup live? It f***in rules

Green Day. Everyone listens to them, I can't stand them. Personally I have no idea what they are singing about and don't understand why everyone likes them so much.

In terms of popularity on MX, I'll say basically every metal band, especially "extreme" metal. Everyone seems to worship these obscure death metal bands. I hate death metal (cept Opeth and In Flames). Everyone also seems to live on Slayer's dick. I am incapable of listening to a Slayer song all the way through, it causes a gag reaction.

Rubbish. I'd go so far as to say the only people in Gn'R who didn't have an impact on the band, musically, were the drummers.

I don't like Pink Floyd.

I used to hate megadeath, but have started getting in to RIP recently.

I hate Trivium

I find Tool pretty average.

Trivium is pretty good except the vocals.

I cannot stand Slayer, a few songs are okay but, no. I also dislike Pantera...and Dime.

And Tool. God, I hate them.

Or you could say that the MC5 and/or Iggy Pop and the Stooges were some of the first punk bands, in which case Detroit would be the original source of punk.

Its crazy to see how many bands I love htat people hate and vice versa!!
For instance, I LOOOVE Trivium and Tool and Megadeth!
Green Day has a place in my heart for Dookie but taht's about it.

As for bands I don't like,

Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Any whiny boy/little girl rock like that I'm not into at all. its mind numbingly Painful to listen to IMHO! haha

Im not a big fan of Slipknot but I love a lot of other bands of the same style. I have also never gotten into Kyuss, and as far as punk style goes, I love most punk bands but i never quite liked the Ramones or Rancid.
