And I finally went out and bought a load of albums I wanted. And every single album is great in its own way.
The Fall of Troy - Doppeganger
Millionaire - Paradisiac
Cave In - Perfect Pitch Black
Oceansize - Everyone Into Position
The Fall of Troy's album is great. I'd heard a lot about them before and been told that because I'm a Mars Volta/ATDI/Blood Brothers fan I'd like them. But TFOT are different they are a little bit screamy like BB but the music is a bit...I dont know different. Ive only listened to it once through (like all the albums) but its definitely going to become one of my fav albums.
Oceansize's new album....well they haven't progressed much in my opinion from their first album. But it's still a great album. 'Heaven Alive' is a great song....but still same old same old from them.
'Paradisiac' by Millionaire is an album Ive been waiting/wanting to get for absolutely aaaaages. It's got it highs and lows this album. There are some great plain rock songs on here but I think the whole album is a bit tainted with all the elctronic sounds. Especially having seen them live WITHOUT the electronics these sounds just ruin the songs slightly for me. But overall a prety good album.
Finally 'Perfect Pitch Black' by Cave In. This is just a CD compiling rare songs and B-sides that haven't been included on their last couple of albums (I think). Im just listening to it now and most of the songs included on this CD shows the heavier/darker side of Cave In unlike their slightly more mainstream sound on 'Antenna'. It takes me back to 'Until Your Heart Stops' screaming from bassist Caleb and huge sounding riffs. Although this CD (yet) has shown me the more experimental side of Cave In like from the days of the album 'Jupiter' for example...but we'll see.
