Hi there! I played piano for like 8 years but now i'd like to buy a keyboard. The only problem is that i really dont know anything about it, so i'd like a couple of advice to not buy crap. I'd like a keyboard with a lot of effects (that's the main reason why i'm attract by this instrument) and at the lowest possible price. so i need your help!

What kind of thing you after? I no u want one with loads of effets but do you need midi interface (via usb or otherwise), do you plan to use it as a portable piano, etc, etc. For small monies things like Yamaha PSR range (good for an actual keyboard, 76 keys) or a cheap EMU (good midi controller, 44 keys -ish).

So what kind of thing do you need? and roughly what's your price range?

i dont really get what is a midi interface, sorry! And i'd like a portable piano. But for the rest, i dont really know what i want cuz like i said, i only know few things about keyboards. I want at least 61 keys and if it cost less then 800$, id be really happy! thats quite about it!

Yamaha has a few keyboards that can be pretty cheap. Look around on musiciansfriend or something.

Casio has some pretty good varieties, depending on your level of skill. They're pretty affordable as well, mine cost about 500 USD and it works just fine.

No problem. A word of advice though, I'd say you should start small. Don't get a huge workstation and you'd have no idea how to operate it. There's some Casios that come with a synth, and if you think that's not necessary, then forget it. :) Have fun picking one out.
