View Full Version : Black Panther once again...
Gentleman , I have travelled many different stores only to find the answer No , when i asked for it. Surfing many hours on the net didn't help neither.
Cuz After thousands of Sold out banners and overpriced shipping taxes i gave up hope , and nearly decided to put the money on new cymbals but now...
now my journey ends.
And I'm proud to present :D

NICE!!! How much was it?
Thats probably my favourite finish black panther does, even more so than the other special edish hammered brass one. So many people have BPs now!
499 € and only 10 € for the shipping :D

awesome man. Great to see a snare that nobody else on here has.
Why do you think i bought it :D ?
Na joking it sounds awsome to!
To get some more info for you guys i found this :D
Because the Vavona Burlwood comes from a source exclusive to Mapex, the company will be the only drum manufacturer offering Vavona Burlwood drums. Vavona Burlwood is taken from the root area of the majestic California Redwood tree; California Redwood trees are a national treasure; however it is the Vavona Burlwood that comes from the Redwood that is truly exotic. Environmentally protected, the Redwood is not harvested, but is only removed when the tree dies from natural causes. It is the natural diseases that kill the trees that create the exotically figured Burlwood. Striking in look, the wood shows incredible strength and remarkable sonic qualities, making it an ideal wood for drum making. The Black Panther Limited Edition Vavona Burlwood Snare features black chrome hardware and the shell is finished in an oyster green tinted hi-gloss lacquer.
This is the another picture of the snaredrum

That hyrogliphics one is so great. What a cool idea for a finish.
I've done some research and the only "official" Limited Edititions are the one i'm gettting and the Brass one.
So i'm a little confused in wich section the babylonion ( or Egyptional ) one should go. After looking it up in recent magazines wich had articles about BP
i found that they are called : The Black Panther Limited Editition Babylonion snare drum. Its a 14" x 5,5",Steel snare drum.
So i'm guessing Black Panther made a Limited Editition of all his types of snare. ( Steel , Brass , Forest ,...)
The Babylonion has killer finish , but the finish itself doesn't really come out good. If you look at the snare from 6 feet you nearly don't notice it has any graphics on it.
Anyways another picture , have fun :http://www.markstein.de/isroot/markstein/Files/Bild3/00007911.jpg
Oh and i thought BP had Evans as Stock heads? But this one shows Remo , so i guess i'm mistaking , anybody some info on this?

The ****ty drummer I know who has the orion has the top snare, it sounds so bad, it sounds soft, snares with die cast hoops aren't supposed to sound soft, I should tune it then steal it.

You know, that's a pretty drum and everything, and I'm sure it sounds great...but does it really matter what the damn thing looks like? I find it kinda troubling that you dumped this much money and made such a ridiculous search across the continent looking for something and you don't even know what it sounds like. It's a musical instrument...it's meant to be played on, not gawked at.

I would rather have a piece of trash snare that I love the sound of, then a super rare, expensive instrument I don't like.

I actually heard the sound before , and i really love Black Panther ,
It wasn't really the looks i was going for ( well maybe looks for 40%)
anyways i was looking at steve gadd snares , but they cost to much so...

Well...I don't really care how my snare looks, but I do care how my drumkit looks, cause it is a piece of the decoration of the stage, and that + the performance of me + the band is how we present ourselfs.
And cause noone can really see my snare I don't care how it look. (although, a acrylic snare looks just damn sexy).

It is indeed! Only cost £100, and in this country thats chep for a tractor style throne! does the job well i certainly recommend

Cheers lol! i wondered if anyone would mention that, i do have a soft spot for wolves, the band hate it but stuff them! it was wearin that shirt that got the ic taken pin the first place! :p none of the other bands that played had a drummers pic lol! i feel special!
