I could lable Blink 182 as death metal on an MP3, does that make them death metal? Listen to the music before you make a judgement. If you wanna hear death metal listen to Cryptopsy or some Behemoth.

As for him being a good drummer, I think he's good because he does what is needed to make the music good. He doesn't over play.

Lol, I will but you were going crazy at me and I lost it. Depending on the colour of your background/skin will make the words be in a colour that isnt th default font. I saw that you changed th font colour ( i think you did that anyway, i cant remeber )

i do like them, i'm not really into the dude's scream, but travis smith is a damn fine drummer. in refrence to earlier posts, no, fast doesn't always equal good, but in a genre like trivium is(i wanna say thrash, but i'm not entirely sure, help me out here TTTSNB) fast does equal good, maybe fast doesn't equal good if u want to play soft jazz, but it does if u want to play stuff like thrash. oh, and drummer 101, i'm just curious, seeing as i am 14 and have been playin' for four years aswell, what exactly would u call a "great drummer for my age"?

I admire their skills with their instruments, but the vocals completely ruins it for them.

To me their just another metal band to me.

Thiers just no distinction between these bands any more, all the musicians are talented,but im starting to find its over done. And they do the whole big dumb metal thing, the look thats going on and just it all. I get along with metal bands I just dont see this band as being creative in thier field. Infact I cant really distinguish many other metal bands nowadays. Its an over crowded overdone scene IMO

The video to 'Gun shot to the head of trepidation' (and actually the song aswell) just kinda prooves this to me . The lyrics,the structure, the big overdone - then dual guitar solos. Then the shouty bit with the crowd its just all...so unimagenitive and is constantly being done

Like I said they are really really talented (their drummer is pretty freaking good), the guitarists shred my face off but I dont see anything special about them as a whole

Oh, and to the question : hes a solid drummer, but Trivium are very unoriginal and are pretty much a kiddy scene metal band.

Better metal drummers : Michael Van Dyne, Faust and Hannes Grossmann.

Corey is awesome.
I got to meet him after a concert they did with Arch Enemy, seemed like a cool guy.

Trivium as individual musicians are pretty good, especially Corey and Travis, but when you put them together, they sound just like every other metalcore band out there.

Matt also needs to learn to sing properly.
If he carries on like he does now, he's going to end up like Chino Moreno, with paralysed vocal chords.

I think they're bland and uninteresting. That goes for all the members, regardless of how fast the guitarists can shred a solo or how quickly the drummer can use double bass.
