Did Mozart complete the Requiem or did he die before finishing it?

He died before he could complete it and it was finished by his friend and pupil Franz Xaver Sussmayer.

Lacrimosa was the last bit he worked on...no? I know it would say in the program I have from the show where I saw this performed in Vienna...unfortunately its all in German.

Lacrimosa was the last peice that he worked on, but died before he finished it. Ironically, it is the most popular of the entire Requiem set.
On another note, that set has to be one of the greatest pieces of classical music in history. Not one note misplaced!

Hmmm, I need to hear this. Could someone upload the piece in it's entirety and e-mail it to me? There's some Stravinsky in it for you...
