So is anyone gonig to NAMM in a couple of weeks in California? Anyone ever been there before? Met any cool people?

I think it sucks that you have to be "invited" to it but then I can see why that is imporant as well.

Never heard about them. Are they a local band?

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was about Vietnam.

One of my friends went. He met Joe Satriani and got his picture with him.

Where in California? And I have never heard of this as well. If it's in or near San Diego I'll have to find a way to get "invited".

Los Angeles Convention Center. You have to know an associate of a business, like D'Addario or Martin. I might get in next year because I know a guy who runs a business.

Clever.

My friend brought back a really cool product. They're putting it out in three months. It's a tuner that's about the size of a pick, and the thickness of 4, like those cheesy pick holder things that people put on their guitars. Well, it uses this beam of light, and you pick a string and shine the light on the string. If it's vibrating back and forth, it's out of tune. And if it's standing perfectly still or near perfectly still, it's in tune. It can do this with all guitars, works in a noisy area and is small and convenient! It's really cool.

Edit: It's hard to explain, but it's really cool. They're gonna go for 20$

Hmm. Los Angeles is a bit of a travel for me. And I don't know any associates. Oh well. It does seem like it'd be fun to go to though.

So the amount it vibrates = how many cents its off pitch. Its a cool concept, but its seems likeit could be a pain in the ***
