I wish I was more knowledgeable about the many different styles of music, but I really only know the basics. There is 2 kinds of music I'm looking for. One, middle eastren style. Kind of like some of the songs on the Black Hawk Down movie soundtrack. I've always been interested in that kind of music, but I don't know what genre it would be classified. The second style of music is Congo drum stuff. African tribe music basically. If you guys could just list some artists or name what genres those type of styles belong in that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
I recommend getting more familiar with the cultures whose music you're interested in first. Once you can be more specific, I can help you out.

Download some stuff by Fela Kuti if you like the African stuff. That's the best I can give you, you put up some pretty broad criteria.

Tuvan folk music would fit into the "african style" thingy, except it doesn´t tend to be heavy on the rhythm section. For mega-congo-based stuff I suggest you check out tribal (religious) dance music, but I have no idea where to find that stuff...
