The topic itself is pretty self explanitory (I searched to see if it exsisted, but its kinda hard to get results with generic words, so please forgive me if its already been posted).
For me:

Mayhem
They were the first black metal band I ever go into, but now that I've discovered other black metal such as Immortal, Rotting Christ, and Gorgoroth, Mayhem don't have the same appeal to me that they once did. I still plug them on every once and a while, but definitely not that much anymore, and if I never heard them again I'd probably be ok.

In answer to the thread Limp Bizkit.

I used to be a huge nu-metal fan, mainly because it was the only thing I saw on TV... all that changed when I met a friend who is a huge Metallica fan... he got me into Metallica, then Iron Maiden, and then it went on... now I can't stand any nu-metal or Metallica, it's just too damn commercial. I used to like Slipknot and Korn, but I just hate them now. The only nu-metal band I listen to once in a while is System Of A Down. For Metallica...well they were a great band (yes even up to and including Load and ReLoad), but after St. Anger, and my realisation that James and Lars are two of the most arrogant SOBs ever to walk the earth, I've lost a lot of respect for them.

Too bad they have always been political and only put out an album because we haven't had such a mediocre president in awhile. But good job on jumping on the "Hate Green Day for trying to be more Punk" bandwagon. Shame you couldn't be more orginal about it.

I have never liked any bands I hate, then again I hate three bands.
Nirvana
ACDC
One other band, I forgot what it is though.

Kinda dumb to hate a band because the band members are SOB's methinks, aren't you supposed to hate a band because they suck? Not because the band are meanys.

Nah it's more that I find all their music generic and repetitive now, I don't really like any of their albums. Although, AJFA is probably the one I'd choose if I had to listen to one again.

Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Drowning Pool, Korn, Mudvayne, Blink 182, Kid Rock, Slipknot, Godsmack.

I used to be into mainstram nu-metal crap. Blink 182 is the only pop punk band I ever got into. The only nu-metal I still enjoy is SOAD and Disturbed.

Some examples of bands I listen to now are: Iced Earth, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Cryptopsy, Symphony X, Megadeth, Primus, Anthrax, Dream Theater, Corrosion Of Conformity, Alice In Chains, Iron Maiden, Sepultura, Testament, Judas Priest

I use to love Korn, way back when I was 12/13. Now, I look at them and sigh.

Lets see, there are a lot of them. Main ones would have to be Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Korn, In Flames, Disturbed, Dragonforce (maybe their new album will make me listen again....but I doubt it) and I'm starting to dislike Children of Bodom, although I still like their older stuff, their new stuff is a constant dissapoinment. If I thought harder the list could go on and on but I'll leave it at that :)

For me, Motley Crue started to suck when Hilary Duff started to wear their shirts in all her videos. I hate that kind of stuff. If there ever were a day when she wore an Emperor shirt I would be so angry that not even I know what would happen.

yeah that stuff pisses me off, young women who think are are all cool by wearing bands t-shirts. Get a life! I saw a tv presenter wearing AC/DC t-shirts as well, why? I strongly doubt she listens to their stuff

Dude check this out.In the 80's when Motley Crue was a big band band...guess what?
They were part of a special genre known as hair metal..otherwise POP metal.
So motley crue was a pop band my friend.
Regulars on MTV and all that jazz.

I never said that was a bad thing but when someone who went on SNL and was caught lypsynching, performs at a stadium and gets boo'd out it kinda is a bad representation of the band on the shirt. Just my opinion, has nothing to do with them becoming more public or anything....just who I associate with the band.

That is so superficial and shallow.

What's to say a pop-artist can't like extreme metal? Or hardcore, or whatever?

I've written a handful of pop-rock songs, and I listen to In Flames, Opeth, Tool, and a few other metal bands.

I think you missed my point. Its not because she sings pop music, its because A) Chances are she doesn't like the band
B) It makes a lot of people like the band for the sole reason she was wearing their shirt
C) She is one of the worst "artistis" in the entire genre
I never said she didn't like the band, but it seemed for to me the shirt was more of a statement than anything else.

It seems about %50 of people agree with me on this one. Thats more then I expected.

Based on what? Surely you're joking...

Load & Reload are barely even metal... and many of the songs flagrantly aren't, not to mention they could've been written by the average hard rock band, this coming from the same band that created MOP and RIL!

They released albums/demos/eps in the following years

Sadly

I am going to have to say Metallica. In my earlier teenage years, they were my musical gods. They had a different feeling for each album and I loved it. After getting into to other metal bands Metallica just slowly faded away, I am never in the mood to listen to them anymore, as a matter of fact I haven't listened to them in about a year now, other than maybe a few songs.

I don't hate them, it's just I have heard it all a million times, and I am glad I moved onto something new, because I constantly look for something new in music with each cd I buy.

I think the main stuff that I go skitzo on is probably Otep and Slipknot. I like them somewhat (not Slipknot's new stuff). But Otep, I can't stand some of the rap... but she is still expirementing, so it works out for her. As for Slipknot. When the heck did they become a mall fashion trend? All kids I know own Slipknot merch when they only know two songs. That ruined the enjoyment of alot of their music for me. Although with their first album, they had some rap-type stuff which I always hated.

I actually find that in time I start to like a lot more bands/songs/genres than I used to. I hated Blink 182 when they first came out, I just couldn't stand them. Now I find them listenable...although I don't listen to them very often. I definitely like them a lot more now than I used to. That goes for most bands that were popular when I was younger.

Metallica.

The people that are sayng metallica, is it that u dont like them anymore or wont listen to there new music?

I don't like them anymore because of their new music. Plus the songs got really old and I don't really like listening to Pentatonic leads in every song.

i used to like simple plan, good charlotte, blink182, sum41, a lot of punk stuff but then i heard ozzy and became a metal/classic rock convert...

now i pretty much dont like anything past 1990

Edit: of course i like velvet revolver bc slash is in it, i should change it to 'i dont like anything whos members werent around before 1990'

So much great music missed out on in the 90's and beyond.

To respond to the topic; there's a lot of music that wouldn't interest me anymore if I heard it. i.e: A lot of nu-metal, or pop-punk, but I can listen to it if it's on usually, sometimes I might even enjoy it.

I used to love Tool. I still like them, but not as much as I used to.

I hate
Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Stratovarius, Hammerfall, Guns N' Roses, Pantera and every other good band ever to have existed. I only like bad stupid music like Hilary Duff, Avril lavigne (Who's Heard that Chop Suey Cover? it was so good SOAD should be embarrassed) Good Charlotte and Fallout Boy.

I Noticed a lot of people putting 'metallica' down as a band they hate. It disgusts me. People say one should be tolerant of other people's opinions but hating metallica is just stupid... And who the hell was that that had a problem with velvet revolver? Jesus Christ!!! Get some taste.

Honestly the only band I used to like but don't anymore is Pink Floyd.

wow, u suck

Dude, you're missing it. He said he hated them, then, in the same post, he bashes the rest of us for hating them because he thinks hating Metallica is stupid. What a dipshit.
