It's a special ''neckthru''-construction.

the neck and body are all one piece. a fender etc is bolt on, it has screws which connect the neck + body. in theory neck through has more sustain.

Errm... well me and my friend brought our 6 strings in today for a laugh. He just got his.
Lets see... there was 3 other bassists. 1 of them was Matt (who owns the other 6 string) the one who thought it was rediculous and 4 is enough, etc. etc. was Dave, then the other guy just said he didn't like it.

That reminds me of the time when I went to my friend's school's club after school. It was a club created for musicians to go and just find other musicians to jam with and whatnot.
I went only once, and that was pretty much the only time anyone else went as well, but, out of like 6-10 people, I was the only bassist.
I was like :(. :p

ah, i've got the same at my school, i've heard a few of them:
Why don't you just get a guitar?
You only need 4 strings, but 5 strings are good as well

I can do some better ones when I get home. :)
I recently did a 15 minute jam with that bass with an entire Latin Jazz band (clave, triangle, everything), with another bass player. It sounded incredibly....RIGHT for what we were playing. I'll do some overtracked thing some time because it was such a damn cool jam (though unfortunately not my groove).

haha, thanks...It's a really nice bass, I've played quite a few others at this price range, and this was my favorite. It was right before the dance, me mum wanted a picture taken, and I figured why not grab the bass. If you do get it be warned though, the bottom horn is extremely small and it's prone to falling off your leg while playing sitting down...It's a pain, but It's worth it I think.

Pretty much. The only exception is the Genesis model, which has a 3 piece neck that is basically a maple neck with an inch of carbon fibre going down the middle.

Winter's EQ
3 Bartolini Passive Soapbars
Hipshot String-Thru Bridge
Hipshot Lyte Tuners w/ Hipshot Detuner on E-string
Dunlop Straplocks
I want to have a 36" scale, im not sure if he will do that for me. i hope this gets done but i am fairly sure it will. i have a job, about $500 from the holidays/birthday, and my parents who, if all else fails, ill just have to payback over the summer.
What do you guys think? any suggestions?
EDIT: thank you to phalanx for the inlay idea

that sounds like it'll be great, i reckon you should get some active pups with a switch or something instead. I mean, since it's a custom, you can pretty much get anything you want

thx alot, man. but about the active pups, wouldnt i need a 9v battery for each one? that would be pretty crazy, since im already gonna need two 9v for the eq.

yeah, I suppose, but if you didn't need a battery per pup then it would be sweet. 3 pickups, that's gonna be really interesting, and the body looks killer. I think a snow flake at the 12th fret and everything else blank would look really cool

Winters Custom? no! that was Jerry Only from The Misfits. Made the whole thing himself. and Winters Custom is just one guy, John P. Winters Jr., also known as "JPbass" on here.

just so i can switch in between "E-A-D-G" & "D-A-D-G" while still being able to play on a "B".
