I have it right now, coming through my hartke ha3500 and a pair of 15 dollar radioshack headphones. Figures, eh?

Also, why does it seem I always play late at night so amazingly. I dunno, today was a breakthrough day for me, I broke my slap rut of the same patter over and over and started tapping. I LOVE BASS!

your muscle memory is better when you are tired, maybe thats why you play better?

perfect tone is a myth by the way, it doesnt exist, after a while you will find something you dont like about it

My perfect tone:

Musicman Stingray > Hartke amp (or possibly SWR Super Red Head)

Oh hush :p.

Not even aluminum-coned Hartkes?

Mr. Pickle
01-04-2006, 10:33 PM
well, i started with aluminum (behringer) and got tired of it. i then moved onto paper (current cab) and i'm finally starting to realize what kind of tone i desire and i'll probably be needing aluminum cones for it, even though i thought i'd be a die-hard paper guy.

The aluminum hartke cabs sound great, the paper are junk, but i just dont think i'll ever be able to get a perfect tone out of a hartke.

I've been kind of thinking of cab shopping, big red is keeping up anymore. any suggestions on a good aluminum 4x10?

Only brand that I know is Hartke (or the Behringer Hartke ripoffs). :-/

Mr. Pickle

yeah, i might have to go with a hartke, unless i find a paper 410 that suits my needs.

punch > warmth

Just get the Hartke cab, and get the head that suits your tonal needs.

I think Ashdown has a 4x10. It might be a combo though.

Avatar cabs are nice.

I've played through them before because my friend Nick has a 1x15 and a 4x10 from them. He's a member of these forums. His username is either Sporksbassist or Sporkbassist. I don't quite remember. He doesn't sign on much.

And my perfect tone comes from my Peavey Series-400 head. It's my 1x15 Carvin cab that ruins it, though. It's too woofy. I'm thinking I'm either going to need a 4x10 or possibly an 8x10 for my tone to really be just that much more perfect.

ahahahaha 123. :smash: and the equipment companies love that.

and ashdown has a 4x10 combo, as well as just a seperate 4x10 cabinet. Yet to play through them though. They dont carry any near me.

^^That's ok.

I always dislike my tone at home, but in a bandsituation.. it works perfect

I think I need to live with that.

Yes, him! Nick!

I told him to log on sometime soon.

He lives not too far from me, and I haven't seen him in forever. :( I like the fact that I met him through MX. That kind of rules.

Hmm...
His band just put up their demo, though, and I'm going to see his band for the first time in a long while on the twenty-first. I'm excited!

Hey you sheep boys! Stop that jibber jabbin'!

So uh what am I here for? My cabs? Yeah they sound good and they are pretty loud. Well, the sound good when the player is good. Pluperfect kinda sucks so he sounds bad. He's just a washed out guitarist anyway.

By the way Nik, the reason you havent been to one of our shows in a while is because either A) you are lazy or B) youd rather get drunk with a bunch of girlpant wearing homies. the funny part is i have nothing against them as people, i love eric and all them haha. i just resent them for stealing neek.
