Just got my bass back after 5 years of being away and the neck is very dry...
Any suggestions?
PS: Glad to be back playing!

what kind of neck is it?
if its maple....some tung oil, maybe?
your surest bet would probably be to take it into a shop, see what they have/recommend, and buy some.

Being away? Did you parents take it away for 5 years?

What sort of finish is currently on the neck?

Haha sorry I should have put more details... and realized I ment to say finger board. I'm an old guy and had to move cities and thought I was only going to be gone for a few months and ended up staying a few years. Lived out of my jeep and honestly slept for some of that time.
The neck is maple but the finger board is Rosewood.

Take the strings off it and give it a good clean with some lemon oil.
Not Lemon Juice, Lemon oil. Available in guitar shops. That will sort it right out :)
