You might want to rethink that thread title...
Peavey heads are oldschool. They're built like tanks and have a solid output. They're definitely great heads and I'd say go for it. It's only $100, so why not? If you don't like it, you can sell it.

^ The 7 band EQ will be sure to offer tons of tonal versatility. I have 7 band graphic EQ on my Peavey TNT 115 and I love it...it helps a lot in any situation; solo or band. Peavey makes great amps.

i use them on my music course and they are good sounding and well built solid amps. they are good just for band practice and they were also used in the last big(ish) gig.

My Peavey TNT 115 is an absolute beast. My main rig is a GK, but I use the Peavey at practice (so I don't have to lug amps back and forth. My GK is for gigging only).
I love the tones. It's got tons of volume and power behind it and enough tones to boot. You can get almost anything out of it.
My only gripe is standard with 115s; if it's too loud, it gets really muddy...I mean really muddy. It also tends to clip a bit more than most, but if you sacrifice a little volume (which you have to do anyway to prevent your tone from being muddy), you'll be fine and it sounds great.
Overall, it's a great amp I'm happy with. Try it out for yourself.

I don't actually have anything to add to the thread.
But the title brought me in here, and I have to say, I'm not impressed.
Not one bit.
