hi guys,

been ages since i posted here, but madthumbs and i keep in contact. i am a crap guitarist and don't really have any guitarist friends at the moment, if anyone knows where i can d/l some pre-recorded chord progressions for practising improv and bassline creation or if anyone can record maybe like a 12 bar blues progression for me OR IF anyone has a song requiring a bassline can they please post links in this thread and i will download and do my best. i would really appreciate the chance to practise the process of creating music.

sounds stupid but i wish to be a songwriting kind of bass player, so any help is appreciated.

Thats not stupid, all bass players strive to write their own stuff.

power tab editor lets you compose stuff, but it plays it in midi form so it doesnt really sound that great, but if you just want it for the sound, its an awesome tool, and its free

anyone else able to help? i'd prefer a real guitar sound as opposed to the midi thing cos it won't really be as common as the actual guitar. please help lol

I believe you can do it with garage band.

if you have a four-string, and you want more of a "guitar" sound, then you might want to start by trying something in the key of E, preferably with the lowest note being the seventh fret of the A string.

That's the way I like to play to, so you're not alone

P.S.- If you find a rythm guitarist who makes up stuff and can tell you what root notes to play, it's easy to place in variations:thumb:
