well im sure someone has, so how is it?
i recently scored one on ebay for a mere $270, and my parents paid for it (worth 2 years of X-mas presents ;p)
i looked up some reviews online and they were all mediocre at worst, but mostly good, so it sounded good by me
i know alot of you guys know ur ****, so i thought i'd ask here
thanks guys :thumb:

my bass teacher has one. Looks sweet, feels nice, but i found the sound lacks SO much low end. Will really cut through on solo's though!

They were made in Japan in the 80's/early 80's. I beleive they have an active EQ.

Wasnt Duff McKagan big on these in the Guns N Roses years?

That is the se.xiest fender I have ever seen. Is there anyway to get ahold of one of these still? If so whats the price range?

There are two types of P lytes. One was crap, one was great.

I can't remember the differences, nor which one was which, though.

I wanted one badly at one point.

Should have read that...

That's probably it. One was a passive P/J, the other was an active P/HH. They both had a mahogany body I think.

They had ones with an active preamp, PJ, and quilt maple tops, too, I think.

isnt there a way to tell the year by the serial number or somethin, or did i just make that up?

it looks and feels great, but alas, my one amp is all fuzzed out so i have no idea how it sounds

really really nice. wouldn't buy it without testing it first though, looks say nothing about the tone; a lot of the times you'll be disappointed :(
