I have been a fan of this exceptional Blues/Rock/Folk genius(and I rarely use that term) since I first heard "Big Sky Country" on the radio in 1991. I saw him live shortly after that and was totally blown away and a fan for life.
I bought each new CD that came out and listened as he played around with a semi-grungy alterna-rock sound in the mid 90's and then started stripping it down to simple Blues again. I saw him live again in the late 90's and it was a very bare bones, acoustic blues filled set that was completely mesmerizing. I think he has to be my all time favorite singer/songwriter.
Sadly, Chris passed away on November 20th, 2005 and he will be greatly missed. I know many musicians, local and major, that were huge fans of his work. Anyone interested in getting a sample of his work should check out the tracks:
"Living With The Law"
"Kick the Stones"
"Big Sky Country"
"Look What Love Has Done"
"I Forget You Every Day"
"Narcotic Prayer"
"Accordingly"
"Wild Country"
"Loco Girl"
"Automatic"
"Weightless"
"Immortal Blues"
"Cool Wooden Crosses"
"Alien"
This will give you a good sampling of his body or work. Any other fans out there?
