This probably sounds stupid but is it just me or is the kit you play on effect your playing, lately I've messing around with Different Set ups like your typical 5 pc, and 4 pc set ups, Then I've been playing around with snare placements, Hi hat placements, and floor tom stuff I've also felt like playing something different with each set up from Jazz to Metal, I wondering does this ever happen to you?

yeah different setups can make a difference. I like to switch from a 5 to a 4 peice every now and then or sometimes even just bass, snare, hihat just to make me be more creative and try new things or focus on new things.

Of course it's gonna change the way you play. Not too many ppl play metal w/ a 4 pc. I would...

I find it even more weird that I can't play half as well without earplugs in.. suppose thats a good thing though.

4 pc kits are almost the standard in grindcore/hardcore hybrid bands such as

:-\
I use a 5 peice...but I have another drum kit and I like to combine them into a 10 piece sometimes.
It works well when im in a metal mood.
