Funnily enough you dont get any shell resonance. You hear the head and thats it.

I just heard it on their site and it doesnt sound half bad.

It has one lug on each drum! That could possibly mean you cant replace the heads but you probably can. They look horrible, anything so cheap cant be good.

i dont really have a price range. altho id have to keep moving my kit about 30 seconds down the road every band practise and my tutor told me that these would be good as they can easily be transported, im only looking about at the moment.

Wrong. That tuning system is widly regarded as perfect. They used to make proper drums but stopped for no obvious reason. Jim has his theories on it

From what I hear they sound good, and they are easy to transport. My only advise is to definitly try it before you buy it.

The one-lug tuning system is perfect. My old moronic teacher thought it was one vertical point of pressure between rims, whereas its actually lateral pressure points on each rim which tunes it.
If ya get what I mean...
But anyway, Arbiter produced the best drums in the world. Only one hole in a shell, and that was the vent.
Their flats drums however, are crap.
You can change the heads though.... >_>
Josiah has the theories, not Jimbob.

How loud are these arbiter flats drums in real life anyway? I only got to hear the sound samples on the site. Would it be an option to consider if I ever move out into an apartment?
(sic)Hate
01-02-2006, 04:35 AM
i dont know altho i think i read somewhere that they are just as loud as a normal kit but im not sure
Dont do it!!!
I tried one in music shop, it was horrible, anything I did sounded ****e, yet when i tried the same thing on a low end mapex it sounded much nicer. IT'll be the worse mistake you make, and there really not much smaller.
Trust me dont do it, I was going to when I first started drumming. You will regret it.
