yeah you can find bass clarinet in jazz, and yeah i play in a jazz quartet where i play clarinet in some of our new orleans style songs we play

well i know it plays in jazz, i do that, just didnt know if it would be considered a clarinet....

It'a a good insturment, I wish I still took lessons. But I still play it now and again. It's great in New Orleans style jazz.

the bass clarinet owns the regular clarinet.......in my humble opinion...

yeah, i find that clarinet has that real sweet sound which sounds ****in awesome when your playin jazz!!!! Glad to see that there are some fellow clarinet players!!!! Clarinet Rocks:thumb:

clarinet rocks.... except when its played in the context of trad jazz!!!!! well.. um yeah.. thats my two cents.

Trad jazz? is sing, sing, sing trad jazz, if it is, i dunno bout clarinet not being used in trad jazz. The clarinet in sing sing sing pwns majorly. Benny goodman, all the way!

i wish i could play clarinet. but im a big dumb head and can only graspe guitar.
