Well my new drumset arrived today, a Sonor Force 3003 in White Sparkle.

I know the pics aren't the greatest, but the flash sucks on the camera. I am still experimenting with the second setup, but I like it so far. The drums sound kickass, though I'm still trying to get the snare to sound the way I like it.
Peace.

That's one sweet setup, but those B8's aren't really doing it for me.

Thanks everyone, and stubbsy the reason I say 'peace' is to try and keep people from taking what I say too seriously, there are a few people here who jump at the slightest chance to bitch about anything, and we really don't need that. But if it annoys you I'll stop.

I love the set man. Im really diggin the finish. On the pic of your pedals I thought you had a DW hi-hat pedal and a sonor slave pedal attached to a DW pedal.
60 Hertz Jig
01-01-2006, 01:04 PM
Hahah, I can see how you thought that. I'm doing it just to confuse you =p
Nah, I find it easier to play that way, though that brings up my one complaint about the Sonor hi-hat stand, the braces get in the way of the DW pedal linkage..grr..

You should be able to turn it.
60 Hertz Jig
01-01-2006, 01:16 PM
Yeah I can turn it, and I eventually found a way to get it to work well, but I'm still not happy with it. Maybe I'll get a 2 leg stand someday.

great set! :thumb:
Personally I don't think B8s are that bad... I do agree on some AAX or AA or HHX or HH replacements though :naughty:

AAX's sound really good to me, that's probably type I'll be getting.
I'd Rather Not: I'm still experimenting with the tom placement and spacing, right now it's a bit tighter than the pics show.
Peace.

I'm going to buy some new snare/bass heads for the kit, and in time, new tom heads as well. Here's what I was thinking:
Evans PowerCentre Reverse/Hazy 300 for the snare
Coated G2/Clear G1 for the toms
Stock batter/Smooth White EQ3 [the stock heads sound fine on the bass, I'd like to get a white reso though]
Comments? Suggestions?

i think i might try that pedal setup....my hi-hats seem a litttle far away for my liking at the moment...........

Evans G1 Coated/Hazy 300 for the snare

Fixed! :thumb:
A good bass drum batter will always sound better than stock.

Alright thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Right now new snare heads are my highest priority.

I'm diggin those pedals
yeah.. kind ainterestingsetup to set your hihat up kind of IN BETWEEN the both pedals...
60 Hertz Jig
01-03-2006, 06:41 PM
Hm, to the comments about my tom placement, the second rack tom is placed as if it was a 4 piece set, what's so wrong about that. I just moved the floor tom down a bit. I find it to be a lot more comfortable to play than a standard rock setup.
forgottenDRUMMER: Why do you recommend the 200 over the 300?
m-Chev-m: I have them placed like that so I can get the hi-hats closer to my snare, without having to put my slave too close to the main pedal.

love ur throne, I would be jealous but....
i have same one except with the metal insteaed of the wheels, does that have pneumatic lift?
60 Hertz Jig
01-03-2006, 07:49 PM
Yep, it has a pneumatic lift, and it doesn't have wheels, they're flat on the bottom.

That is a very nice looking kit I was thinking of getting a sonar kit, but then I looked in my wallet. Curious how your new tom set up is since you said that you changed it a little?
60 Hertz Jig
01-04-2006, 10:50 PM
Arruda: Thanks, and it's only a subtle change, nothing very noticeable. I've been playing around with cymbal placement, that's about it.

i just got a set of sabian b8s and i love them, i think they sound great, so much better than xbts which i have played in the past. for the price they are perfect.for under £200 i got:
14" hi-hats
14" thin crash
16" thin crash
20" ride
10" splash
i'd say that that is a pretty good deal!
