The Koln Concert by Keith Jarret is really really good. I do not know the exact story but apparently he just got on a piano and started doin his thing and after about 40 min he had a big crowd. its really good stuff though. I really like chillin out to some thelonious monk, it just lifts a huge weight of my shoulders.

Speaking of McCoy Tyner, his solo stuff is pretty amazing.

Speaking of McCoy Tyner, when he solos why does his left hand always sound like he is dying? It's like he possess negartive Red Garland touch. Coltrane's My Favorite Things is one of the few albums where I don't hear that from him.

Check out some Duke Ellington - I recommend the album "Money Jungle" which features Charles Mingus and Max Roach.

Also, I know these two have been mentioned, but I think they bear repeating:

Thelonious Monk
Bill Evans

Art Tatum; sometimes considered the greatest solo piano player in the genre of jazz.

Cecil Taylor; perhaps the greatest avant guarde jazz piano player
