I've been listening to norwegian folk music on and off for a while but recently i've found a couple of other good scandinavian bands including Varttina, Rosenberg 7, and Ranarim

are there any other fans of this type of music on the forums? if so, got got any cd's to trade/share?

I'm not down with Norwegian folk music, but I suspect that it's somewhat similar to Swedish folk music, which I'm quite familiar with. We're talking keyed fiddles (or key harp or whatever it's called in English. "Nyckelharpa" in Swedish), violins, kind of melancholic melodies, stuff like that? I can't say I'm really into it, but I enjoy most of what I hear of it. Especially the keyed fiddles are sweet.

The Closest thing i like is Finntroll---------they combine death metal with some sort of Finnish polka style. and they sing in swedish, good stuff!
