I know that most of us drummers out there love and cherish our snare drums. We probably spend the most money on this one single drum than anything else. So I decided to start a thread dedicated to showing off our snare drums. You can post your favorite or simply all of your drums. I will start:
My Maryland DC Series Snare in Black Sparkle

Pearl Piccolo snare drum. My real snare broke about 3 years ago and I had a gig that night so I went to Guitar Center and got the cheapest snare they had. I haven't had $300 to spare since then, so I'm still using that one. I really don't like it anymore.

I think Maryland makes awesome drums. But 20 ply is just an absurd abuse of Maryland quality I think. Still a killer looking snare.
Here's some of mine - these are the ones I use most often. Look closely, some are not what they seem....

I did try a lot of different Maryland snares in different configurations. I simply loved the way the 20ply sounded. It has the crack and the pitch that I wanted. There is no lack in quality for the sound I was looking for. I respect your opinion and your lovely snares.

No no.. I perhaps didnt' articulate myself well. I meant, that I think the true charecter and tone of Maryland drums would have better represented in a thinner snare.
But no doubt that one soudns great.
Dont have any pics right now but im just using a snare that came with the pacific cx. I got that thing to sound damn good too. coated amb/snareside amb with some gibraltar snar wires on there.

Ferocious: Imagine the power and dynamics of a brass snare with the beauty and unique sound qualities of a hammered finish. This snare gives you superior performance from whisper-soft brushes to ear-shattering rim shots.

Well, you could set the slave up to the left of the hi-hat, like I do. If your hi-hat stand rotates, turn it so you can put the slave to the left, and run the linkage through the gap in the stand. That's just me though. I haven't used my slave much lately as well..
Peace.

i know how ya feel, i have the pacific hi hat stand, and i hate it so much, the legs don't rotate, and for some reason the cluch just can't grip the rod because whenever i play the hats with my foot it just goes crazy. that is why i'm finally gettin' a new hi hat stand today :)

That alien snare is wicked
Me and Paul at UDrum thought we would do an experiment with what he called "laminate ply'. That logo is scanned onto a heavy laminate and used like a wrap. We're gonna see if it's could be a cheaper alternative to hand painting artwork for those that don't have a ton to spend but would like something custom.

It's very nice although I havent got to try it live yet. I just got it off Ebay and it's got a nice range but with three snare drums it's hard to get time with them all haha. I found it for $250 US practically brand new with a brand new Pearl snare stand.

i dont have access to a camera but i can tell you aboot my snare. its a rogers dynasonic "big R" model from 1964, its 6.5"x14" and 5mm beaded steel. its fat as sounding and has a huge tuning range because of the 10-lugs and no snare bed. I have all the originals on it, except one washer and tuning-rod, as well as the original floating rogers snare-bed. I even have the matching leather-bag that my uncle got with it for a 1964 christmas giveaway!
I also have a dodgy pearl 5x14" wood-snare that i redid the bearing edges rounded and has a nice pop to it.

My main snare:

My other snare:
Olympic circa 1950's snare in white (slightly yellow now...) Duroplastic, i think its beech or poplar, 5-ply (i think) with reinforcing rings. Complete with foil over paper badge. haha. It doesnt have any skins as i am currently in the process of buying new hoops, tuning rods and a new batter head.
