I never understand people who go "I just bought XYZ. Is this cymbal/drum/tractor/balloon any good?" Surely the best time to ask this was before you bought it?

Anyway, Wuhan chinas are very highly rated by people on this here board.

WUHANS > YOU

dont question the han foo

@threadstarter wuhans are hand hammerd, cast lathed and everything so even someone had tried the sizes no guarantee they would sound similar

i love the wuhans that ive got and hopefully will get a china soon

i loved the 12/14/18/22 size chinas. if the trend is anywhere close, ur 20 will be massively dark and ear splitting

I find that chinas are more comfortable in the air, even though I have mine mounted like that to save space.

Yeah, it sucks when you have it mounted pretty flat, and they rebound up away from you so you can't him them in succession.

i strike cymbals both normally and from the underside so its slightly easier for me to have my cymbals rather flat:smash:

flat cymbals are the best... if you come at them at the right angles

HeLLmO
12-29-2005, 09:18 PM
if i had my way i would have enough chinas to have on flat and about 3 up high

Yeah, thats true, but doesn't hitting them from the underside make them crack?

^ i always have that suspicion in the back on my head

but so far it hasnt happened. not even on my wuhan, and remember wuhans are razor thin

Yeah, I dunno how you hit them, maybe your specific technique works for that kind of thing.

aznriceball

buddy rich and john blackwell have always been big influences, so obviously my technique is very influenced by their style. im still nowhere near as clean, but i work on it whenever possible

Yeah, but apparently his cymbals are made for that, he even says so himself.

oh...yea and the mounting is weird, from my experience the wuhan chinas will break easily if mounted right side up.

but when you mount them upside down the weird bell gets in the way of it moving if you know what i mean.

what i did was leave the cymbal screw off of the stand.'

but they are great!!!
