Yes, you pronounce it japanese style; just tama

Talos
12-29-2005, 07:07 AM
I say Tar-ma or Tah-ma

But other people say Tamma

Jezen
12-29-2005, 07:58 AM
Tamma sounds moronic. Like saying Remo instead of Reemo. Or Eevans instead of Evans.

It's Tah-ma.

Drum Phil
12-29-2005, 08:00 AM
I always just said Tame-a

spirit
12-29-2005, 08:09 AM
Tah-ma

I'd have thought that was obvious, because if you just look at it, you'd have thought it was pronounced like that, and if you actually considered it, it's Japanese, so it should sound like that anyway.

Remember everyone, the difference between the long and short 'a' sounds.

It's not Yamaha, it's Yama-hah

Really? Cool. They'd have to. Most people go out of tune at the really high bit just after "I'll be yours".

Nope, seems you don't know anything about japanese pronounciation. :smash:

A short a is a short a there, sometimes it's so short that they don't even speak it, so are other vowels.

Ex: You write "sumou" but you speak "smo", i could give plenty of other examples but i'm too lazy.
Either way alot of you are wrong, its just "tama" without any stress on the syllables

tam-a and ta-ma sound exactly the same, the only possible differences is long/short and emphasises.

These threads blow my mind. One time everyone will be completely sure that it's pronounced one way, and then 6 months later another will pop up and everyones sure it's pronounced the other way. I always pronounced it like Tamma and not Tomma, because that's what my teacher always said.
