The rockbasses I have played have been decent instruements, but from what i've heard they don't hold a candle to warwick's.
Still a good bass, what model?

Not a bad bass at all. Nothing like a Warwick, but they also don't have a $2000 price tag. You should be happy.

Its like Epiphone is to gibson and squire to fender. I think they're alright. I have an ESP.
Im sure it will serve you well.

Yeah if its your first bass it should be just fine. Down the road save up and get yourself a real Warwick
One of these days I will get me a real Warwick.

Rockbasses are really solid instruments, but they should never be compared to Warwicks. They're of much higher quality than Squiers or Epiphone basses, IMO.

They are nothing on real warwicks, but they are a very decent bass for the price. I think the rockbass corvette was named best 4 string under $500 by a magazine a couple years ago.

Their more like MIM Fenders IMO.
They are solid basses. And will serve you well, and they sound pretty dang nice too.

thanks, before this i had a peavey BXP-4 string, so i think this warwick will b a weee bit better :-D
Also, i was thinking of de-fretting the peavey, how hard would this be to do, ive found some guides online

It shouldn't be to hard if you take your time, and have all the materials to do it.

you shouldn't compare the rockbass to other warwicks, that makes it look liek its not worth it...but when you really look at it, for the price its beter than a lot of stuff out there and it really is a solid bass. I was going to get one but a great deal opened up to me for a thumb NT and i had to take it :thumb:

i own one, its a solid instrument. the input jack will sometimes take a crap on ya, but so do warwick jacks. i own both a rockbass and a warwick, and i play them both regularily.
EDIT: i forgot to mention, the back of the rockbasses neck have some laquer on them, and it stops your thumb from sliding fast, so if you ever get fed up with it, take a fine grit sandpaper and just rub it off, that what i did and it helped a bunch.

sanding the back of the neck? all you do is take off the lauqer finish to get down to the wood so it slides better. it doesnt look any differant either. ill try to get some of it though.
