Wow, that thing is definately quite a find for what it looks like...
I'd read some reviews on the musiciansfriend website, (if there are any)
But most importantly, go try one out :thumb:
But as you live in the UK im not sure which shop would stock them, drumwright or birmingham drum center do just about everything so they are safe bets...
Hope i helped :thumb:

Im gonna buy it straght from the UK main dealer, but i know if i ask there advice then they will be really biased (well one of them will be).
And the reviews on musiciansfriend are really band most of the time.

Actually, im guessing your not too far from wembley drum center are you? or am i mistaken?
Anyway, i'd give those guys a ring and see if they have any instock you can try out. I really recommend you try it out before you buy it.
Yer, your probably right about the biased-ness
I'l have a look at the reviews for it myself because i dont know what a "band" type of review is :P

See where it says Enfield, well follow that green one up to the M25, and that is me J25 of the M25.
And wembley is near Watford (well closest on that map).

Okey, I get your point.
That Tension Rod thing that quite a few people talk about in the reviews, doesnt seem like an attribute that you would like when your playing. losing a tension rod is going to ruin your head and put you out of tune.
Quite a few people on there dont support these reviews and say they have had it for a few years and they dont seem to have any faults... I think you should try it out; and if you like it, buy it...
Also when and if you try it out, give the tension rods on the resonant side (and batter side if you want) a wiggle because they might be a bit dodgy, (according to the reviews). Also try budging the lugs, they might be a contributing factor to the tension rod problem (if it exists).
Anyone else on this forum know anything of these snares?
Which shop are you looking to buy it from then? because £60-£70 is an awesome price for a snare looking like that and of that size, with wood hoops (regardless of the sound)
Hope ive helped :thumb:

well i have a pacific snare that came with my drum set, and at the time it was at the top of the hierarchy of pacifics (LX), but the small lugs that held the strainer onto my snare snapped off, both of them, when i was tightening it. so i swore a lot and then grabbed my other snare and used that one. but it turns out all i had to do was finagle the broken parts out of the holes and replace them and now that snares all good as new (and its got quite a sound too it!) so ive run into only one problem so far, and that snare (the one you want) looks simply amazing. i suggest you get it,its very nice.

The PDP snare w/ the wood hoops simply sounds amazing, especially for the price. I don't own one, but I chopped on one at a GC for a good 20 min.
