The newest one is wicked good. Its called Altered State. There first album, Yellowjackets, is real good too. Check those two out. You also cant go wrong with just the best of the yellowjackets. Its usually 9.99 in most cd stores.

Will Kennedy was on these albums; Four Corners, Politics, The Spin, Greenhouse, Live Wires, Like a River, Run for Your Life, Dreamland, Blue Hats, Club Nocturne. So all the albums from 1987-1998. And yes, that is 9.99 american dollars.

Will doesn't play with them anymore. They played a show really near me just recently (in Newcastle, UK) but unfortunately I couldn't go.
My drum teacher went however, which in turn led me to some pretty nasty excercises.

Yeah i know, Marcus Baylor plays for them now. I saw Will live, breathtaking! Like a human example of perfect chops and dynamics. Yeah i'd wish they came to my town:angry:

EDIT: British boy; your location is awesome dude!

Just my $0.02...

It depends on what style of jazz you're looking for, as they've kinda progressed over the years. Their first album self-titled "Yellowjackets" still remains one of my favorites with Robben Ford doing a ton of the lead work and definitely falls more under the funk and fusion category. At some point, Russ Ferrante, the leader, morphed the group after alto sax player Marc Russo left and promptly inserted tenor saxophonist Bob Mintzer into the mix. At that point, the group's 'flavor' seemed to change pretty significantly as it transitioned more towards some deeper modern jazz.
